I’ve just checked the fixture

Do we really have only one night game and all these 12 noon games? I guess being bottom we don’t get decent TV slots

Very inconvenient, uses up the whole day

No, they’ve only scheduled dates and times for the first bunch of games, it’s a floating fixture

Big take away from that was his comment around 'He's (Nicks) big on people bringing their weapons'. Sounds like we're letting (and encouraging) our guys with some x-factor do their thang. Very non-Crowbot, which is ace.

Reckon this will be a fun year to watch

Hope he un****s Chayce!

Your main issue would be battery life. Good luck having a drone in the air for 2-3 hours

Don't they usually do a stream of the trial match vs Port? IIRC they had Tom Rehn or someone like that commentating last year.

Interchangeable battery packs I think you'll find, least that's what one of my old mates in Pt.Augusta told me who has done a lot of drone work up at the top end of Spencer Gulf (Redbanks etc).

You'd probably then need multiple drones to deal with the downtime of battery swaps, put one up as the other comes down for a swap

Need Neil Craig back in some capacity to stifle that. 22 replicants doing the exact same thing is the key to success. And if it's not, just focus more and work harder at doing the exact same thing.

With all the positivity about the club I think we are due the usual get ahead of ourselves prediction.

The showdown in round 8 is shaping as a classic and potentially our first loss for the season.

Rd 1 Geelong @ home - W (round 1 at home, we come out on fire)
Rd 2 Sydney @ Sydney W (lot of great young talent in Sydney, but still expected to be around us on the ladder)
Rd 3 GC @ home W (Good Friday game, we never lose on Good Friday)
Rd 4 North @ Marvel (it's North)
Rd 5 Freo @ home (doable)
Rd 6 Hawthorn @ Tas (they could finish bottom)
Rd 7 GWS @ home (they are going in the wrong direction)

From there the wins drop off, draw gets tougher, we win 1-3 more games for the rest of the season.

Has there been a behind-the-scenes weights and conditioning room shake-up that i'm not aware off? So many players appear to be in ripping nick.

Even older guys like Tex, Crouch, Brown, Davis and Kelly look as if they're in career best physical condition! Matty Crouch seems to have found Scotty Thompsons secret arm workout regime tucked into that #5 locker as well

Improved haircut bodes well. Seems to have changed body shape a lot. A lot of our players seem to have done that this offseason. Some have taken weight off, like Fog and Crouch, others have put it on, like Davis. I wonder if Nicks has very clear views on what weights and shapes people should have for particular roles. I've never heard of a club doing that so specifically, but hey, if it gets an advantage, I can live with it.
It certainly feels like there's been a change and the players have really come to embrace it. Which fills me with more confidence in Nicks then I had at any point last season.

They just got the clubs first ever wooden spoon. If that wasn't burning a hole in their ass i'd be very worried about them and we'd need the second rebuild in as many years.

Realistically, it wasn’t against Talia. McAsey I think?

Our defence will give up a lot of contested marks this year. A lot more than Tex will take.

A fit Doedee will certainly prevent a lot of them.

That said we're vulnerable, but them the breaks if you want to develop kids.

I have no doubt that they were driven. But I think its more then just an increase in personal motivation. Something seems different! You just don't see such widespread improvement in conditioning in 1 offseason. Maybe in the 2-4 year players, but rarely from so many 5-10+ year players.
