A strong argument could be made for awarding the flag without the grand final, but seems clubs worked together to cancel it. Unlike the already heavily compromised VFL fixture the home and away season was completed with every club playing each other. We're 2-0 head-to-head with the cats in 2021 and finished 4 wins and 120% clear at the top of the ladder.

A pity the 6 team finals system was scheduled over 4 weeks not 3.

Pies clearly the best team in it.

It's unfortunate that the covid pause came when it did. By then a 4 week finals series had already commenced. Benefit of hindsight would suggest a more cautious approach when the fixture was originally done, but not many would have predicted we'd be back here under lockdowns 6-8 months ago.
