I think that's the point. Over the past five years Starc has watched a lot of talent walk away. His comments weren't just about this year, he's just such of being a feeder club.

We were a foundation club and seen 10 clubs added. Of course we were going to lose players. this time we’ve benefited from the expansion with the crows being weakened

Irrelevant to what you said, you said Starce was ‘whining’ about losing players, according to you without reason. The fact he has lost a truck load of players was the reason.

He wasn't whining. He did what he had to do to keep his team together. He doesnt look stupid. Great premiership coach and we are lucky to have him.

It perhaps does look a bit silly but I imagine contract situations like this are quite fluid and Starc was operating off the best information he had at the time. I'd rather he advocate for the club.

I do understand your point though. If a coach complains every year about players leaving and then players never leave than that coach can look a bit silly.

Never entered my mind. Amusing suggestion. You forget we play in a non VFL state and have to continually fight for relevancy and if we don't take a stand they just do everything they can to run all over us.

He had 2 options - keep quiet, keep his opinions to himself and let players decide. Or just be out there, shout from the roof tops about his displeasure and what we had to go through during last rebuild, how its unfair. Whether his opinion would influence player decision is a different matter, we won't know how strong his relationships are with individual players to make a difference on their decision making.

I'm glad he chose the second option - we need someone to give our AFLW team a voice on this matter. I'm glad he did.

After all, it seems you're more concerned about the greater good of the competition?

We lost 8 and by some miracle the players we got out of QAFLW gelled really well for us to pinch that 2021 premiership. Don't tell me we need to keep doing this crap while other clubs can come and cherry pick off our list.

Please. Come on. He's not being paid to ensure a strong competition, he's being paid to win games as coach of the Brisbane Lions.
