it was only a few weeks ago that we only had 51 ? tackles against the bombers
So it looks like we are not listening to the coaches then

How sad we are.
Relying on other teams to help us when we can’t even help ourselves.

I‘ve reconciled myself a while ago to the fact that there is no way we play finals…and if, by the slightest miracle we do, we’ll last one game.

This is so unlike my usual optimistic self, it’s exhibit #1 of what this club/team can do to a person.

It's the little things, gotta find some silver lining to a crud football weekend for us. Richmond and Gold Coast also choking.

You can't honestly believe the coaches don't go out there at the breaks and give feedback to the players on areas they are down in. I know you aren't dumb enough to believe something like that so I guess when you make hysterical comments you should probably expect to receive some criticism for it.

I have no issue with the criticism, I know it was dumb.
I know he gave them some instruction, on the Fox Footy broadcast they said Ratten spoke about the 170 pressure rating in our game last week and that it was something the team needed to improve. Midway through the game this weekend and they were running at 162. So the instruction was for nothing, the team did even less.

Whether he's not giving instructions, or the players are just completely ignoring them points me to the same conclusion. That he's lost the group.
Or is there a third consideration I'm missing?

We know this group are able to compete against any team when they put the work in. This weekend wasn't a one off, though.

Still was a ridiculous comment to suggest the coaches don't speak to the players during the breaks. Ratts just goes out there and has a smoke and downs a couple of hot pies that Dean Kent has brought along with him, plays "got ya nose" with a few of the young fellas and goes over the boundary to have a chat with the cheer squad or something.

I get we are all frustrated but can we at least discuss the state of the club without obvious exaggerations like that? Not the best way to go about it (dumbest post of the year comment) but no wonder he was criticised for his comment. We are doing just fine criticising every aspect of the club without the need for that stuff IMO.

That's more like it. For what it's worth I agree with most of that. Something is horribly wrong and the communication is either not getting through or the players can't be arsed to give the required effort. If we were shit all year then I don't think it'd be as bad as it is now, where we know that we can compete with anyone and have shown that to be true.

Ratts did say in his presser that it was spoken about at quarter time but it took until the middle stages of the third for it to turn. I don't know, I didn't watch the game. But he was asked this question specifically and that's what happened.

Disagree, pretty sure I've seen Ratts and Kent hooking into a few stubbies as they down their hot pies.

And that should be fine in a place like this where we can let off steam, as long as we don’t abuse players or staff.

I watched Geelong tear Carlton to pieces yesterday, not having any preferences to either team I could really appreciate how Geelong manage to control and kill their opposition's gameplan. By half time it had broken the Carlton player's composure and their structures failed as they tried to compensate.

Well at least we have held on to 10th with Port and the Suns losing today but that only helps if we play finals, if we don't we would be better off with them winning and going above us.
