It's time to find a Saints connection to Brisbane now.

Melbourne will be broken down eventually, they're gettable. They are the best of a dour league atm. I think any premiership team from the last 20 years would beat them... many top 4 teams from the mid 2000s would too! Some other clubs will zip past them in the next year or two, hopefully. It would be an indictment on the league if this lot win a treble. I don't dislike the club at all, just the standard of footy these days is nothing special atm.

What a dynasty that was. But seriously, well done Melbourne. They actually played finals this year and are holding the last flag. I'd take that. It looks like that team zipping past them might be Collingwood!

And I’d like you to start supporting the team

I'm a 22 year member so I've seen countless players and teams worth supporting over the years and Brad Hill isn't it.

He doesn't give a **** about the fans, the club or the premiership we desperately want. He has his flags so all he wants now is a heavier wallet.

What was that green lanky thing that was on the telly when we were kids?

Long head and limbs, can't remember it

He's open to a trade amid speculation that he doesn't like playing his role in the team. If true, he hardly seems invested. The coach has made all sorts of excuses for him to the point of blaming the rest of the team for his wayward form. None of it is good.
I think it's best that he goes myself, I can't see his situation with us getting any better. It would benefit the team and club long term if we cut him loose...which, in a way, is supporting the greater good of the team, as no player is bigger than the club.
I also think that there are quite a few reasons as to why long standing supporters of the club are fed up with the rot with these "magic bean" trades. Hill has been drastically overpaid for his output. This isn't his fault...but questions need to be asked, and answered. With Hill being open to moving on, it shows that many of the doubters that have accused him of being no more than a mercenary whom couldn't care less about the club's plight, may at very least, have a point.

One thing from last nights game - Darcy Fort played the best game I've seen from of someone who is guaranteed to be dropped the following week.

Never had a problem with Melbourne but gee whiz some of their fans were unbearably obnoxious and full of themselves (Danster) over the last 12 months so that loss last night was pretty sweet.

Hopefully a little lesson in humility

"Just play off for 2nd spot and give us the trophy now. None of these challengers are any better than what the dogs were last year in the granny."

Sinclair better than both easily. Berry was the turner

Brisbane only really have Neale in that absolute star class. We aren't miles off them, I reckon a good game plan and chucking Sincs on ball gives you a pretty similar list quality. McLuggage is a beast and might end up a star but he's still around Crouch/Steele level at the moment.

Brisbane show you don't have to be the best side in it, get there and just keep taking your chances.

He’s been in our top 5 the last few years along with Sinclair Ryder Steele and whoever else you would like

That looks like the club padding his votes to justify his wage. The fact that we are happy to let him go says everything you need to know. Hill has been a pretty good this year but the previous 2 he was pretty poor. Part of it is playing him out of his ideal position possibly. He's not as bad as people on here make out but he has been a major disappointment for such a huge value trade. Part of that is on us though, the way he plays isn't what Ratts wants in his side.

I know a couple of Dees supporters and they've been unbearable. I may be jealous but I loved seeing their little hearts break last night. Some of the most graceless fans in footy. To be fair I'm planning on making the most of it next time we come good too so the campaigners will get it back.

I just love an underdog and they look the most unlikely side left in it. Freo might give them some competition if they get through though.

Well put - most on here just lay into him he’s a quality player - are we happy to let him go? Media speculation at this point
