Longer was going to pull a Daniel McKenzie, so that he played every game like his round 4 2015. ( 15 cp's , 50 or so hitouts ).
It was only his unfortunate concussion stopped this happening.

Probably gets us to the fringes of top 4 or at least make the 8 but if we don't keep drafting a layer of youth it won't be a long term thing or move beyond that IMO.

For what it's worth I hope it's Sydney, the comeback story for Paddy has been incredible and to finish everything he has gone through with a premiership medal will be really special.

Hard not to feel just extremely bitter and jealous right now.

We just seem like we're never going to get out of this middle of the road swamp while teams rebuild and bottom out and rebuild again around us.

I think we break out of it soon enough. Give it 2 years we could well be bottom of the ladder again. Our second half of the year was pretty comparable to North's.

Even middle of the road could be a stretch next year. I would certainly expect Port, Gold Coast and possibly even Bombers and GWS to be better than us next year.
