Gutted for the kid. Hopefully he uses this time well and does a ton of endurance work to get him in shape for some midfield time in 2023.

Hugely disappointing news on McInnes. Hope all goes well with his surgery, and we see him fit and firing in 2023. Has been great for him to get a taste of senior footy this year, which will hold him in good stead for a more permanent role next season....

For any other side an injury list filled exclusively with tall options might rate a mention in the media but alas.

While McInnes joins a list of talls not exactly household names when your side is searching for added depth and improvement in this area we still held out hopes players like him, Kreuger, Dean and Johnson etc. could make a positive impression this season at AFL level.

While the VFL side is potentially starting to feel the impact of our injury list now it's commendable they've remained as competitive as they have up until this point.

Sucks that Reef got such a nasty injury, but I’m glad he’s going straight in for surgery rather than waiting and seeing.

Looking forward to Dean being available in three weeks.

Watch Daniher come back from his edition of Kreuger's injury and not miss another game to shoulder injury for the rest of his career 😔

The same Daniher who basically missed two years of footy at Essendon?
I might have used a different example.

I think there was a liberal dose of sarcasm because it’s a similar situation to Kreuger who of course needed season ending surgery. Basically a case of “of course the non surgical path works for the non Collingwood player”…

I think it was well reported at the time, they we’re taking a risk, not to put Daniher under the knife. The possibility of a failed rehab like Krueger was risk they were prepared to take - time will tell if they made the right decision.

That's what I mean. It seems they've made the same decision we made, although it feels like they've left him out for longer. But watch him get through to the end of the year without another injury!

Great to see Johnson is back this week, and then Dean after the bye. If we can defeat Melbourne, then go into the bye with a few players to return after it, that will give us some excellent depth in the second half of the season. Also adding Carmichael to that list.
If we can get Johnson, Dean and Carmicheal playing seniors for the last 6 games, I think we can do some serious damage in september

Major points for optimism. Pinning hopes on 3 blokes who have never played AFL to be significant contributors in September within their first 10 games is pretty rosy thinking. But they might give us a bit more much needed depth.
