I went to the G, and Darcy got smacked around the ground by Cameron, from Albany.
Even Mason Cox gave our backs a hard time.
We were weak as piss, and their midfield bullied us. Darcy is no enforcer as I've seen some people hyperbolise on here!
He's just a big baby, if we don't get some mongrel we are never going to get near a flag imo!
Now ok, we have kids in there compared to De Goey & Crisp, but this touchy nice nice s**t will get us nowhere
He had an average game, most wouldn't dispute that.
But to say he's a big baby is just moronic. His catchphrase is literally "too big too strong". Yeah it's ironic and silly, but the fact the team use it to fire him up show that they genuinely believe in his talent and ferocity.

My advice to Belly if he’s reading BF, which I’m sure he does “Finish what you started you little campaigner!”

Jeez, just wondering if this thread will exceed a 1000 pages before trade period even starts.

Gonna be a rampant few weeks me thinks...
Crap, I was only kidding. Welcome to Hot Shots....Part Deux!! :tearsofjoy: o_O

My word we have shed some players have'nt we?

Cerra, Neale, Langdon, Hill, Logue, Acres, Tucker and probably Meek and Lobb.

Thats an entire midfield and a decent one at that. Has any other club bled so much talent? Possibly only GWS and Suns
Add in Weller, Sam Collins, Hayden Crozier and Hogan, plus the delistings of McCarthy, Hamling, Blakely and Mundy's retirement, and I reckon we've had almost as much list turnover as any side.

Huge to manage. But, with who we've brought in, both via draft, trade and through free agency, I think we have overall improved.
We're better than we were, now the challenge is to keep the trajectory going without over investing in any one magic player. Looking at you Jackson.

Seriously, we have yet to see anything much from Erasmus, Matthew Johnson or Can't Miss Amiss. If one of those three comes on, plus we see continued development from NOD, Chaps, Cox and Young...

If all 3 mature to what they might be... Wow.

If I am right on my stats, in our last game this year, 9 of our 22 players were 22 or under. 9.
We have an amazingly positive age profile. Just need to manage competing salary increase demands and get the right mix of contract extensions, new blood plus older rookie bargains...

Also please extend Brennan Cox.

Long John extension.

Thanks.

Trade week in this order.
1. Jackson Trade first so they don’t get their hands on what we get for Logue. This must be done. 13 and F1. They will want to get the deal done to use those picks on another player.
2. Logue for 19
3. Trade Acres for a 2nd rounder.
4. Use that 2nd for Sharp
5. Trade Tucker for a future 3rd or something.
6. Trade in another Fwd on the cheap.

7. If we elect to proceed with a Meek or Lobb trade leave it late and milk as much as we can for the contracted duo. Lobb will be the token last trade for the viewers to tune into.

So Jackson must get done before the Logue trade. That is critical as we want to bring in at least 1 quality draftee in this year.

If we play our hand right, we could lose Acres, Lobb, Logue, Tucker and Henry via trade, and yet (possibly) still wind up younger as a squad overall, despite extending Aish, Wilson and Banfield.

I say again. Wow.

Goodness it's BeinPurplenGreen

Temperature in Canberra must have finally got back above posting level for the year.

Nah, mourning period for the Queen's death means I finally have time off.

If only Mundy's retirement triggered a similar period of reflection...

OK I was stretching it a bit. But Hamling was very, very good for us when he first came over, especially while Alex PEEEEIRCE was out hurt.

Seriously though, most of us would have had him best 25 as recently as August/September last year.

I totally get how upsetting it must be for him to slip from a regular starting role to not even being in Peel's best 20...

We really only have Ethan Hughes as tallish backup if Logue, Hamling and Meek go. Not that Meek was ever a defender but you know what I mean.

Delisting Hamling would be living on the edge.

Mate it’s 3 and a bit weeks till Trade week. Then the possibility of drafting mature agers. We will of course bring in extra reinforcements for our KPD stocks.

Wonder if sam menegola will get floated again, mature winger replacement for acres. Seems to be depth at geelong now.

Any chance of us going after Sam Menegola?? Out of favour at the Cats would go straight onto the wing I reckon.
