Looking at Sydney and Geelong forward line, the depth of good players shows how far we have to go.

Cameron
Hawkins
Stengle
Rohan
Duncan and close a high half forwards

And

Franklin
Reid
Pappely
Heeney
McDonald

Our forwards next year are

Tabs if not injured
Amiss still very green
Walters getting slower
Switta gun, but is a high half forward
Schultz solid b grader
Fyfe should play midfield

In reality we need at least 3 probably 4 more forwards A or B grader forwards before we can push for a flag, and 2more a graders.

In 2 years we will have Switta, Amiss and Schultz and nothing else.
Missed Treacy. Also green but tracking nicely as a developing fwd/ruck with insane defensive pressure for a tall. Ceiling is Lobb with a heart transplant. On meth.

These are the draft picks I think we could get for these players. Tell me if you think I'm dreaming.

Lobb End of first round (19) or somewhere early second from North.
Logue. Is not contracted so we will get shafted. (Second round - this year or next).
Tucker. He would have been delisted like Blakely if he'd stayed so whatever we get is a bonus. Future 3rd would be a great result.
Acres. Out of contract isn't he? Second or future second would be a great result.
Meek Is contracted. Worth a second round pick in my opinion.
Henry: I don't reckon you'd get much more than a second round pick. Even that could be generous.

So all in all, our best haul would be 5 second round picks and a 3rd rounder.
I'm probably in dream land.
You’re pretty close to the mark.

Logue: North’s starting price will be F2. Ours will be around 14. As he is out of contract it will end up closer to Norths preferred price. I reckon F2 + swap of 55 for 72.

Lobb: I agree end of First round. We might try and get an earlier pick like 15 but will need to hand something back. The main piece for us will be Brisbane’s 15 or F1 and then we swap Future 2nd and 3rd.

Tucker: Pick range around 48-54 or F3 (agree with what you say)

Acres: Agree with what you say. Current 2nd or future 2nd. If it is pick 28 we will likely need to given them something back.

Meek: second round pick is right. I agree with the comments earlier in this thread that there haven’t been too many reserve rucks traded for a second. We will target a second because he is contracted. If it is sub 27 then we will need to give something back. I see his draft range around 31-37.

Henry: not going anywhere. He has another 12 months to buy in and get regular game time. If not we trade him out even if it is for a pick around 35-45.

Can only give so many passesfor a player then to realise he's not going to be that much better. That's Tucker unfortunately. Slow, takes too long to be consistent.

Erasmus, Johnson, Aish are already on the list, aren't getting traded so therefore he isn't moving up the list

I think Western is too small.

How we signed Colyer in round 12, watch him go make to his quiet self then meanwhile having to delist a younger developing player due to having no small forward depth is perplexing.
Colyer should've gotten a end of season meeting and explain his spot. Eh

If Saints dont get a first out of North (if he actually picks them), they need to be shipped to Tassie

Unless we get some salary cap/list space dumping currency from another club, I find it hard to see how we make all the trades we are linked to happen.

We don't really have anything better to give Saints, I find it hard to imagine we would split pick 1 for him. I guess we will see how things pan out. He might not even nominate us, will have to wait and see.

So with Logue, Tucker, Acres, Blakely and Western all on the out we must be hitting the free agency hard this year.

Erasmus, Amiss and Co. will stay on the rookie list. Which means we will have a bunch of spots on the list to fill and only really linked strongly with Jackson and Sharp.
Erasmus, Amiss, etc are not on the rookie list, they are on the main list.

Caleb Daniels say Hi.
I don't understand when people say things like this and imagine they're dunking on people. If height didn't matter the comp would be full of short people, instead it has a tiny number nicely acting as the exception to prove the rule.

Not that I think he's not making it because he too small (if anythings it's more his light weight for his height that is an issue rather than purely his height). Primarily it's because he's not good enough.

He's not good enough to be that short?

That's not unreasonable. It's unfortunate for us and Joel.

People are not moving to North because of Clarko, it’s the shi.tload of money and playing opportunity.

Clarko was such a good coach Hawthorn is paying him $1m to NOT coach them. Clarko was fired for a reason, he is a control freak. You can’t yell and abuse players/staff for results anymore just ask Ross Lyon.

North need a figure, a coach of that potential though. Look at the clearing of the deck they're undergoing

Should be able to split pick 1 with GWS and get like pick 3 and a teens pick with all the picks they have. Seems an easy decision for mine but I've always harped on about how incredibly overrated pick 1 is

Western is not that good. Shame he injured his hamstring at the start of the year but the moment he came back he has struggled. Some games you forgot he wasn’t even on the field. The writing was on the wall when he got dropped to reserves and then missed out on finals games. In fact I’m surprised he got a game ahead of Kuek.

Kuek would been handy. I would have played him instead of Western and Luke Polsen.

With regards to Colyer. I don’t have a big issue with him being signed for one more year. He is handy depth for 2022. Yes he dropped off towards the end of the year but earlier in the year and post bye he was playing handy football. He has speed and even in his games for Peel he used the ball nicely.

For some reason or other a heap of Freo players struggled to get possessions from the last regular season game into the finals when playing for Peel.

Didn't he abuse some teenage umpire at his son's game?
