List Mgmt. 2022 List Management: Draft, Trade and FA Pt2: Electric Boogaloo

I faltered reading today's input. When your mind is prone to conspiracy, because it's usually more interesting content, it was easy for me to go to where we are being used as a development club. Our players are sought after because culture/ standards. Our showing this season scared the Vfl types and so they have come up with devious ways/ deals to steal away best 22 and depth.

To bring balance back, I'm sending it out that Amiss, Treacy and Sturt come back from pre season healthy and ready to go. Also Fyfe healed and ready to go. I watched Peel play and surrounded by better players Erasmus can do anything Logue ever did and more. Anyone we trade for or draft should become better depth, because I have to remind myself that Freo do seem to know what they are doing these days.

What ******* waste of time the NGA has been for us

The very dubious prospects of Liam Henry aside the only truely decent AFL level player it’s ever produced is playing for Carlton

Time for a rethink on whatever is going on with it because it should be one of our few advantages
Apart from his last game walker has been very good from it. But yeah.. really disheartening when our best talent gets to go to Carlton bc if a dumb rule that literally no other club was affected by.

I read that Meek has nominated Hawks as his preferred landing spot if a trade can be organised.

Funny that Hackdorn mentioned about 8 Clubs but Hawthorn was not one of the clubs he mentioned.
Brilliant. Almost impossible to do, but Hagdorn achieved it effortlessly.

I think Tyler Brockman would be a bit of a fan favorite if we can get him back. He has quite the bag of tricks. I don't want to swap Meek for him, Brockman out of contract third round pick who hasn't played much at all due to injury, he should be almost free.

Thought he had a year left. OOC gives us a lot of leverage should we go after him. Pick swap upgrade maybe…
Agree he would be a fan favorite. The small forwards lack some Xfactor

There might only be four or five hits from NGA programs league wide. Changkuoth Jiath at Hawthorn, Tarryn Thomas (maybe), Isaac Quaynor at Collingwood, maybe JUH but the cost was a lot, and Brandon Walker has played 31 games in a side that made a semi.

Was the NGA meant to be producing a constant stream of high level players? Like outside the non football states how many NGA success stories are there? Ugle-Hayden is one I suppose. And there was that Melbourne bloke who was drafted by Gold Coast is another....Like the idea is that it gets people from regional areas and multicultural backgrounds into footy. The fact that we have so many that are even draftable is somewhat a success I suppose.

Western is not that good. Shame he injured his hamstring at the start of the year but the moment he came back he has struggled. Some games you forgot he wasn’t even on the field. The writing was on the wall when he got dropped to reserves and then missed out on finals games. In fact I’m surprised he got a game ahead of Kuek.

Kuek would been handy. I would have played him instead of Western and Luke Polsen.

With regards to Colyer. I don’t have a big issue with him being signed for one more year. He is handy depth for 2022. Yes he dropped off towards the end of the year but earlier in the year and post bye he was playing handy football. He has speed and even in his games for Peel he used the ball nicely.

For some reason or other a heap of Freo players struggled to get possessions from the last regular season game into the finals when playing for Peel.
Is Kuek officially gone? He can have a big pre season and be a surprise

Yeah Walker of course but I was more thinking about how little we have got for all the efforts we have put in up North

Good for a PR exercise but we aren’t getting anything tangible out of it

Gonski: Logue ,Acres, Tucker, Meek, Lobb (possibly),Western and Blakely. That's 7 players ,so I cannot imagine there will be anymore delisting.
I have no idea how they manage our picks as Jackson alone will take up a few
I make it 9 OUTS or possible outs if you assume we trade Meek & Lobb:
Valente, Mundy, Western, Blakely, Logue, Acres, Tucker, (Lobb), (Meek)

So far we've brought in Kuek & Jackson sounds like a probable IN.

So we'll need to find 7 x players with what I assume will be a relatively weak draft hand after we trade for Jackson.

I wonder who else is in the club's sights as trade in or delisted players - so far this Sharp & Corbett are the known suspects.

Kuek isnt going to be delisted, Peter Bell has said that freo like to give players 2 years at minimum. Although we did delist Pina after one year....But still half a season isnt a fair go so i'd guess he will stay.

My point is that posters on here pointing at Logue as some kind of money grabbing opportunist are being myopic.

And I also think it is ironic that list management isn't being scrutinised when we find ourselves with a surfeit of defenders and trying to rapidly convert one into a forward without any training or opportunity to learn the position.

Simultaneously, we draft a skinny KPF and give him a run, and like magic, he kicks goals!

Logue is not the issue. He is the symptom.
He is the symptom of a poor decision made in 2016.

His upside is quite apparent but I think a lot of people still can't look past the semi game sadly. Walker is still only in his second year and cracked the B22 of one of the leagues best (or even best) defences. He's only going to get better. Still can't believe he lasted til 51 in that year's draft, should have gone top 30

No Mundy, who knows how Fyfes story is going to play out in 2023, Erasmus and Johnson unproven.

I would have thought there is a midfield spot ripe for the picking.
If Tucker stays and ends up playing 20+ games for us next year then forget about Key Forwards and 2nd rucks, we are going backwards

Anybody watched Bowes in the last couple of years? Fairly sure he's played wing and one of GC players looking to leave. Former top 10 pick too.
Suns fans are set that when given midfield time he'd be a gun and I'd agree

Could be a good Mundy replacement, and given he's from the Suns he might also arrive with a first round pick given our history
