It’s not very often port and Freo are involved in player trades with each other.

Be nice if there was unwritten agreement that if there’s a chance to shaft the team up the road. We’d each do what we could to help.

Yeah that’s just speculation on Melbourne wanting a top 10 pick and Port having one.

Nothing to see there, we won’t be trading up into the top 10
A week out from trades. Any whispers you or Carnthedockers have heard?

(Pm if they’re wibbly wobbly)

Realistically what will all the outgoing players get?

Lobb > early 2nd
Logue > late 2nd
Acres > late 2nd
Meek > early 3rd
Tucker > late 3rd

You could use any of those picks to upgrade our first pick.

Sharp is apparently joining Freo, Jackson trade will be official early in the trade period. The only reason it won’t go through on the first two days of trade period is so trade period shows can talk about something

100% freo will try too if they have to get Jackson
We don’t have to, other teams didn’t have to trade into the top 10 to get elite talent. Jackson is uncontracted so there is no need for us bend to a demand of a top 10 pick.

Some people value $$$ over team success. That’s why it’s good they are not here anymore and with Acres that is 3 less from Con Young stable
I think Logue has legitimate reason to seek a trade, as heartbreaking as it is. He's simply not going to be featuring at AFL level often enough at Fremantle.

Exactly snuff - Jackson is uncontacted, let's not bend to Melbourne's demands...they sure didn't when Langdon was uncontacted.

How many were whinging this time last year about "only" getting #6 for Cerra?

Sure #6 was Carlton's first, but if their 1st rounder was #13 and that is all we got this place would have melted a hole into the Earth's core

But now it's our turn and suddenly uncontracted early 1st rounders aren't worth as much?

Yeah but that's not what I'm saying, our two first round picks are sufficient if not overs with us half a chance to slide a bit next year.

When you have sufficient capital for a trade, you dont need to force something for an uncontracted player because that's what the other team wants.

If Melbourne want a top 10 pick so badly, they are welcome to use the ample currency of two first round picks around 13 to achieve it

That's how it works. If we had pick #6 we would be trading it for Jackson. We have pick #13. So that's all we have. That's all they get. That's how it works.

The entire battle is securing the nomination of the player, the club and their manager will push the player towards a club that can arrange the trade but it's what it is.

Collingwood is about to be on the wrong side of it too. Geelong trading for Bruhn, meanwhile Henry is going to Bali without a contract for 2023 and will decide his future later... which means he is going to Geelong but Geelong need time to sort out other trades first since they might not be able to trade both their firsts.

By the time Henry nominates Geelong they won't have a top thirty pick to trade for him. Collingwood get shafted.

That's how it goes.

Do we know 100% that LJ will nominate freo? Seen some talk over twitter that he's nominating wce.
Would be a bit weird for him to be out with the Freo boys last night if that was the case. He's joining Freo unfortunately or fortunately depending on which side of the fence you sit on.

Yeah I saw that too. But this person seemed pretty adamant that he had told family that he was nominating Eagles.

Without knowing that persons track record I'd imagine they are just winding people up
