It's got nothing to do with Rodgers' contract. The problem was the cap money assigned to Adams under the franchise tag, because all $20 million counted against this year's cap and the Packers had little room to move in the free agent market. I also believe Adams could see the writing on the wall (ie Rodgers not being on the teams very much longer) and wanting to move on.

Trading Adams is actually a very good move for the Packers because WRs are such a bargain when you have them on their rookie deals. IF the Packers had drafted Jefferson instead of Jordan Love it's very likely that Adams may have been moved earlier. Getting a 1st and a 2nd for Adams is a great deal for the Packers this close to the draft.

WR is a deep position in this year's draft and I wouldn't be surprised if the Packers went all in and drafted a couple early. I've seen some commentary on the Packers moving up in the draft but I don't think that'll happen because there's no elite talent this year. There will be a lot of receivers taken in the first two rounds though.

Was wondering what your take would be on this. Wasn't sure if you'd backflip. Good take.
I cant wait for the Rodgers era to be over in a year or 2. [Who knows them they might move to KC and they are wasting Mahomes prime, and Mahomes is greedy for getting paid what the market said he is worth. look at the people squeezed out. Or the same about the Bills and Allen]

Its become trendy to sh*t on the Packers. I guess that will dry up when Rodgers is gone and the clicks stop because people dont care as much.

its the state of "journalism" now. Just like the Browns are also somewhat trendy to sh*t on, but for a more macabre reason. Like everyone concerned about Baker's feelings because the Browns dared to look for an upgrade, yet whispers about Matt Ryan's feelings when he was at least once a good QB. Something Baker could never become.

Just like how the NFL Media moved onto Watson's trade value the second criminal charges were dropped, even with 22 civil cases from 24 women are still active, for either sexual harassment or assault.

The AFL Media is no different. look at how quiet its been with them condemning Tom Morris after championing him 1 day earlier.
Yeah man it's pretty ridiculous. I can understand why there is some criticism of Rodgers but the amount of misconceptions thrown around are just odd, you would think with the amount of media he does now people have a better idea of the person he is or what he is about. The reason Rodgers took so long to decide whether or not to come back was clearly because of this. It's just become an easy like or click. I never like people online saying that players are selfish for taking the money they have earned. As if they wouldn't.

Rodgers will probably throw more TDs, catches and yards to his new #1, feed him that much, than Adams will get at the Raiders

Well that's not what has the team at their best at all, and not what LaFleur would want at all. The team was at it's best in the past 5 years during the covid season when the ball was getting shared around between all receivers, Rodgers was getting the ball out quickly, and they were using a lot of motion.

I think it is trendy to say "oh look at all the success that Brady had when he played for less than market rate over most of his career". People don't understand that Brady is the complete outlier in the league. Brady's wife makes more money than he ever did and I doubt there's another player in the league in that situation, or at least, not amongst the highly paid players.

But I'm sure people would still try and push thr narrative that Rodgers forced him out and they couldn't pay Adams

“Life long dream” to play for (insert team here)

How many times out of 10 is that actually true when it is said by an athlete? 😅

Fine with me, ill take a year of Minshew

ESPN's David Newton believes Gardner Minshew could be "a possibility" for the Panthers.

Carolina has swung and missed on every big-name quarterback looking for a change of scenery of the past couple offseasons, including Deshaun Watson, who eliminated the Panthers from his potential destinations this week. Minshew -- signed through the 2022 season with the Eagles -- could conceivably serve as competition for Sam Darnold, the team's presumed 2022 starter after striking out on Watson. Minshew was solid in two 2021 starts for Philadelphia, completing 68.6 percent of his passes and throwing four touchdowns to one interception. A volatile producer during his tenure in Jacksonville, Minshew would be a last-ditch option for the down-bad Panthers.

No??? REALLY??

The Charlotte Observer's Jonathan Alexander believes franchise quarterbacks "have no interest" in signing with the Panthers.

Deshaun Watson this week became the latest high-end quarterback to turn down the Panthers after a full year of all-out recruitment by Panthers owner David Tepper and the QB-desperate organization. Russell Wilson, meanwhile, did not waive his no-trade clause to come to Carolina, instead choosing Denver. In 2021, Matthew Stafford shunned the Panthers in favor of the Rams. Christian McCaffrey and D.J. Moore haven't proven appealing enough for an elite QB to take a chance with the Panthers, and head coach Matt Rhule -- who will likely be gone after 2022 barring a drastic turnaround -- hasn't had any success in luring big-name signal callers. That leaves the team with the hideous prospect of starting Sam Darnold again in 2022 if they don't use their first-round pick (sixth overall) on a QB.

Been hoping he isn’t traded, but if he goes anywhere, hope it’s you guys.
