Watson choosing Cleveland was always a long shot at best, but it doesn’t mean you don’t always try to upgrade. I’m sure there were others we just didn’t get so close with. And it sounds like Baker knew they’d be looking at options, maybe he just didn’t think it’d get so real.

I’m still a fan of Baker, and I’d be happy to see him stay - although I’m sure saying no to his trade request is just about leverage. But I don’t think he’s handled this particularly well. If anything, he’s probably justified the concerns about him.

I can’t be bothered copying tweets across, but there was one that said not to judge this whole QB saga until we see who’s starting come November.

My money is well and truly on it being Matt Ryan now.

Are you new around here? Don’t feed the trolls.
Ahhh yes, the guy who praises every move Depodesta makes from the time he wakes up.

Didn’t see much of you all season after predictions of glory

;)

Bit of civil war between the two Americans for a couple of pages. Very enjoyable read. More please.
He has to work for the Browns

Unfortunately Chris25 has no such excuse.

He is a true believer and I fear lost for good

:(

I don’t need to be on here all day. Your posts are all the same, so I know I’m not missing anything.

You disappeared as soon as you saw your bros were exposed all year long.

And thinking a 36 year old qb who played his entire career in a dome is a brilliant plan for 2022 is exactly what a sycophant of this FO would desire.

This is one instance where they did nothing wrong imo, you should be swinging for the fences to try and get a top 5 or 6 QB at only 26 years old.

They obviously dont believe in Baker (and with good reason) , last year of his rookie deal so youre not sacrificing anything really.... unless you are of the belief they are a championship contender with Mayfield as QB this upcoming season. (which im firmly not)

It’s just funny seeing people who complained about Baker all year now complain about replacing him. Anything to blame the front office and make themselves feel better about their lives. Browns Twitter is just a mess.

I’ve said before I wouldn’t take Matt Ryan. He wouldn’t be my plan A, B or C. It’s just where I’d put my money if I was a betting man.

Watson is not anywhere near top 5 or 6.

Regardless,

In my line of work, if I don’t know how someone is going to answer you got 2 choices:

1) do your due diligence ahead of time and figure it out or

2) ask the question and hope it doesn’t bite you in the ass

Choice 2 can ruin someone’s day in a hurry.

One would think in the toy box of life, the vaunted ivy league analytics bros who get paid obscene amounts of money to operate in, would understand those things.

Now, not only do they look like clowns, they have reduced whatever value there was in Baker’s trade market.

If one were inclined to replace him—this way would be the absolute dumbest way possible.

That is the issue.

Watson was cleared of criminal charges and they moved on to try and get him. Its not like they attempted to trade for him before being cleared in court.

Mayfield gets you in to a wild card berth at best this year. Youre literally losing nothing. Go get Jimmy G for peanuts off the niners, you'll get the same output you would have with Mayfield. Trade Mayfield for a second and third or something to the Saints. Problem solved, you've gained picks and the teams ceiling and floor remains the same as it was before all this.

No competent GM would give anything more than a conditional 5 for Baker.

They all watched OBJ talk the geniuses into paying him, releasing him and letting him choose his next team for nothing.

It isn’t like the other GM’s ignore that these guys are morons.

Lot of dumb desperate teams out there, I dunno, speaking of, Carolina you better not be .

I don't mind the Wentz choice.

He's better than Heinicke and if he has time to throw and plays smart he makes us better. When he's careless or tries too hard he's a liability.

Still waiting for T-Mac to sign and Samuel to restructure.

Baker surely goes home to Texas (Houston).

Ryan the Colts.

Philly's 3 X 1st the Falcons might want to trade #8 for 2 of those

Who'd want to go to Brown town or Carolina?

Texans really like Davis Mills, I think they are all in on him this year to see what they have
