They should watch the women play - they are the definition of team defence.
I've never... NEVER... seen a team pressure its opposition the way our girls did in the GF last year. Men or women. It was suffocating and relentless. If our men replicated that and then combined it with their superior skill level, they actually would go the season unbeaten and they'd probably end up with a % of 150+, probably closer to 200.

Rayner doesn’t have Fritsch’s pogo stick athleticism though. However Kai Lohman does.
Not sure about that, in the last season Rayner played he could get a long way up. Have a memory of him jumping nearly clear over Gawn for a mark that if he held would’ve been mark of the year without a doubt.

Unpopular opinion on this board... this bloke knows his stuff

Have you actually checked these or do you just take his opinion as fact? The first one liberatore takes possession of the ball and does not dispose of it correctly, you could argue he didn’t have prior opportunity but that’s debatable, the second one in red I’m currently watching it in slo mo and to my eye and the slow motion it’s a throw, at best they are debatable that either of these decisions were incorrect and the third one in red the missed 50m penalty well that was missed for us

Just straight up and down, either on the spot, or running vertical leap. No, Rayner doesn’t have the leap of the top leapers in the league.

Taking a ride on someone else is entirely different.

He also has it time stamped as 1.31 Bailey smith fends off Zorko and then is tackled
By rich, the ball boggles out appearing as though he handballed but he didn’t, so it should of been holding the ball, the point that I’m making is it’s only his opinion that these decisions are correct or incorrect

After watching last nights pre-season game for the Blues and Dees it will be interesting to see how the interpretations will change. Some will moan and whine but hopefully the years of the Doggies flick passes/throws will be eradicated.

Maybe not top ten but I’d say his well above average and wouldn’t say Fritsch is an explosive athlete either though, more a smooth mover across the ground.

I did not bother reading the link to "hasumpstuffedup" but agree with the bolded.
Dumping on umpires is a waste of time and energy
Players and fans have an opinion of whether it is a free kick or not.
Most times the players know they messed up. Just their reaction to decisions in 2022 will need to stop immediately
Fans on the other hand will continue to boo and bag the umpire no matter what. Their is always about 30/80% of fans that disagree about all free kicks

I never bye into the umpiring decision cost's us the game. This is regularly trotted out when someone scores in the last minute of a game
Bailey a good example:
First when not given the free v Cats in dying seconds. Their were 43 other free kicks that day any number could have been to our advantage or not
How many easy shots at goal did we or the Cats miss?. The list goes on

Then the following week: Bailey scores a goal after siren but from a mark not a free kick. I am sure Pies supporters could comb through the footage and find an umpire mistake they could claim costs them the game. Or any other number of reasons they lost

Also another thing, fans always remember that Bailey kicked the winning goal after the siren.
However it really was the previous 10 goals that beat Collingwood. Any misses previously and we lose. Obvious i know but it is why players really need to nail easy shots at goal anytime over the 120 minutes. You never know when it could come back to bite you

We talk about that Bailey free kick he should have got against Blicavs. Then there's Eric Hipwood in the 2nd quarter gathering at the back of the pack, running into an open goal 8 metres out... and missing.

There's no need to blame the umpires when our team's performances are largely within its own control.

In no way do I disagree with your larger point, but do want to point out that the cats also got a goal from an outrageous Guthrie throw. It was as bad as the Ablett/Dangerfield one in the 2020 prelim and the dusty one in the 2019 Qf.

We played pretty poorly for three quarters in that game so only have ourselves to blame for having to come from behind to lead and then lose by a kick.

So many injuries this weekend. I guess the guys come back fit, strong and rested and go hard. So instead of easing back into the season and waking the body they play at 100%.

I get that want to win, and we fans go hard at them if they don't go 100%, but probably would be less injuries if they didn't keep score and eased of just a tad. Then come out and flatten each other in the season proper.
