Why is Melbourne wanting to pay Grundys 5 years a mill a year
He’s a 2 time all Australian?
They’re in a premiership window now.
Both Grundy and Gawn probably versatile enough to play well together.
Can dominate the middle.

Bit of a difference in calibre between he and bowes

Jirik13 i think this is potentially one for you to work out or think through.

We deferred payments to players for COVID. That was 10% reduction I believe?

If salary cap is about 13 million then we deferred 1.3 million in payments?

Bowes had up to 350k / season deferred?

Macpherson, fiorini, brodie sound like they had minimum 100k deferred.

That’s half the deferred money between those 4 players.

Just wondering if we intentially deferred money for players we were a bit iffy on, with the whole plan to try and ship them off if they weren’t looking like best 22 locks.

Given the numbers above, it doesn’t really seem like an equitable spread amongst all players.
I believe it was 1.5M. My guess is that Macpherson and Brodie deferred more than 100K. But yes, I would expect 3-4 more players having back-ended salaries due to covid cut. Long-term contracts, possibly our captains, Thompson, Ballard, Powell?

TT is not happening this year. Regardless if he asks or not.
While it is looking unlikely its the kind of trade request that could come late in the trade period. I think I remember weller only announced in the 2nd week and took until the final hour to get done. The bad thing is north will be asking for a similar outcome to that one.

Blake acres is going for a future third..

Should be worth about the same tbh

TBH Acres has more runs on the board than Ben Long.

If the club keep bending over on deals it will never end.

Edit: just leave the deal until next week when we have shuffled our picks and 35 is the only one we have left this year to deal with.

Let him go on Trade Radio and have him tell the world that we have guaranteed to get him to the club at any cost just so we can lose all bargaining power.

Just reminds me that **** giving Freo a leg up on Sharp.

I thought so to…
But it’s his third club…

And long did nominate us..
so I guess we will come to the party?
And the fact we have excess picks this year… prob give into whatever they want

They can have Ben long and pick 25 for a future first

I’m generous

Geelong are really going to win out of this. Giving them a pick 7 and Bowes will be massive.

Having said that, I’m not sure Bowes will get a game straight up. Maybe he will impress them, but their midfield is fine—even with Selwood retiring. Maybe in 2024 is when he gets his big chance with a few players ageing.

I really, really, really hope we get something half-decent coming back…

St Kilda and Gold Coast are in a stalemate over a deal for Ben Long with the Saints wanting pick 25 for the player and Gold Coast reluctant to offer more than pick 36.

Don't know where this is actually from, but saw it on another board.

You’d say Collingwood are in the window now as well, most decent teams over the last decade have won a flag with out an all Australian ruckman. I think it’s a disaster

Tarryn manager doesn't manage a lot of players it seems but manages none other than Jason Horne Francis.

Another of his few clients is recently recommitted Lukosius.
Isn’t it Ben Williams? He’s has a fair amount of players in his portfolio

Cue the Sun's trading pick 25 to someone else.
