The 26-year-old was starved of opportunity in 2022, managing only two senior appearances after playing 19 games last year.
But after kicking 63 goals in the VFL to win the Jim 'Frosty' Miller Medal and earn selection at full forward in the team of the year, Burgess landed on the radar of several clubs, including Adelaide and St Kilda.
The South Australian has decided to remain at Metricon Stadium and fight for a spot in Stuart Dew’s best 22 next season.PLAYERCARDSTARTStuart Dew

Nah keep 5, just take the best talent there. Not risking missing out on who we want.Worst draft hand Suns ever had.
If the Suns take current highest
Picks 7 45 and 46 to the draft for the minimal 3 draftees
Once Rankine deal done.. would expect Suns to split pick 5 for a pick 10 and 15 or alike
This deal would have been a good chance to slide pick 5 to pick 8 and some points for next year.Revealed: Three-way mega-deal that can get Horne-Francis home, mean Roos own picks 1 and 2
Revealed: Three-way mega-deal that can get JHF home, give Kangaroos picks 1 and 2www.foxsports.com.au
Huge if true.
Roos picks 1 and pick 2
Would really throw the top 10 onto chaos
Last time we slide a pick down to get a future draft pick in, we missed out on Clayton Oliver. This deal would have been a good chance to slide pick 5 to pick 8 and some points for next year.
Doesn't bother me. I hope we take Olly Hollands.Last time we slide a pick down to get a future draft pick in, we missed out on Clayton Oliver.
Just take 5 to the draft and take who we want, reach or not.
So who we taking at 5?Last time we slide a pick down to get a future draft pick in, we missed out on Clayton Oliver.
Just take 5 to the draft and take who we want, reach or not.
Cam Mackenzie would be my pick, but there is plenty who can fill a role, Busslinger as a KPD, Humphrey could play as a small forward and role into the midfield, Phillipou is a good forward/mid as well, great speed and upside. All 4 would make great additions to the team.So who we taking at 5?
The next pick is mid 40s hence why best to split the pick
Is slightly high.. but if that’s what pick we hold.So does this put Ollie Hollands out of our range? Is pick 5 (6) too high a reach?
I’d say they’d look to re sign rowell and Anderson and front load their contracts to hit the cap floor this year. Then in future years, as you mention, when those two are on a bit less and they other three you said come off contract suns use the space to target more guns.If Bowes, Fiorini, Rankine all are leaving this year and their salaries aren't on our 2023 books, would that not mean we have approx. $2mil to pay someone/s, and/or are we going under 95%
With Thompson, Sexton & Macpherson's $1.2mil? also coming off we should have a fair crack at 2-3 players in 2024 You'd think
Of course after giving some players pay rises.
Pay Rowell and nosey 800k + next year and spread the rest out over a further 4-5 years equals to about 650kIf Bowes, Fiorini, Rankine all are leaving this year and their salaries aren't on our 2023 books, would that not mean we have approx. $2mil to pay someone/s, and/or are we going under 95%

Didn’t know moyle was on the rookie list, really like him as Witt’s successorI reckon you will find we will promote Ned Moyle from the rookie list so we will only take 2 live picks.
A lot more to play out… Bowes, Rankine, Corbett and potentially Sharp and Fiorini.
