Disagree. If anything, Dew does send our talent to VFL to work on their craft (similar to Sydney where he comes from). Just typical example is Hollands. They had him toiling most of the last year in VFL and is in VFL right now again (and rightly so). Flanders spent time in VFL, even Ainsworth a couple of years ago. The same goes for Jeffrey, Moyle, Graham, Davies, Andrew, Rosas, Ace. All playing in VFL tomorrow except Davies (who spent most time in VFL this year). This is my point, dew doesn't like to play most of these guys anyway, he prioritises giving high draft picks games before they are ready, over winning in the now.
There were complaints on here last year that he chose to debut some guys in must win games (Collingwood/Richmond) instead of picking the best team to win.
I see it regularly under him, playing guys like Davies, Andrew when they should be honing their craft in the vfl. It's like constantly picking sides for 3 years from now, I think the list is past that.

Hollands played well last year when he got opportunity. This year, yes, he did not play well but usually you don't drop players after one game. Jeffrey was horrible in his last AFL game and was dropped rightly so IMO. He will be back.I think we see it differently. Holland's was in the team for too long, was offering barely anything, same with Graham and Davies last year.
It's ok to give them a taste of AFL footy, but not leave them in for more than 3 games if they are not performing, or the level is above them at this stage. It costs games when you are gifting young high picks too many appearances, especially when you have others in the two's that can offer more.
Jeffrey and Humphrey can hold their own at afl level.
Daicos clearlyRory Atkins 25 touches, 11 marks @ 82% Efficiency and the Win.
Now that he's got his value up, who are we targeting for a straight swap?
Clayton Oliver, Josh Rachele or Jeremy Cameron?

The fact he had the balls to use a first rounder on Powelly when 17 other teams pretty much didn't even have him on a draft board is incredible.Scott Clayton finding Wil Powell from absolute obscurity almost makes me forgive him for drafting potatoes at a 95% Miss rate in the years prior.
in the top 5 most important players on our list right now and keeps getting better.
I’ll never forget the draft commentators being absolutely lost for words. None of them had any clue who who was.The fact he had the balls to use a first rounder on Powelly when 17 other teams pretty much didn't even have him on a draft board is incredible.
I remember we were linked to taking Ballard at 19, and we took Wil instead and I was pretty upset, only for Chucky to slide all the way to 42 for us.I’ll never forget the draft commentators being absolutely lost for words. None of them had any clue who who was.
From memory Wil said he sent his own video package out as no one had any interest in him.I’ll never forget the draft commentators being absolutely lost for words. None of them had any clue who who was.
I am pretty sure there was interest in Wil from one team, I believe Demons? That's why we took him at pick 19 and did not take risk he would be gone at pick 42.From memory Wil said he sent his own video package out as no one had any interest in him.
Clayton took the chance and the rest as they say is history.
West Coast were supposedly super interested as well.I am pretty sure there was interest in Wil from one team, I believe Demons? That's why we took him at pick 19 and did not take risk he would be gone at pick 42.
I own him in Keeper League Fantasy Footy so i have tracked him for 3 years now.Just throwing it out there but is Hugo Ralphsmith worth chasing watched him in the vfl looks a player
They did a pretty interesting short video with the list management team on how they found Powell a few years ago, if anyone can find it.
Basically went to watch him once while trying not to be noticed by other list teams and made their mind up there. ‘Player X’ they called him I think to avoid using his name anywhere.
