If there is finally some interest from A graders wanting to come to the Club I hope the decision on them is made by Dimma and not our erstwhile list manager
I’m sure Davies will be offered another contract.
I'm probably more optimistic about Davies' future than Hollands

I'd keep Hollands and Sharp (if they wanted to) and discard some of the tried and tested dead wood - McPherson, Fiorini, Lemmens, Ace, Holman (possibly) and maybe Sexton. All dependent on who's out there but all of these have proven helpful without being at the level we needed to be a force and I suspect they'd be some of those that make up the 20% Dimma is talking about. Rosas might also make his hit list but there is room for improvement with him. The best 22 has been consistently 4 or 5 players off being really competitive and that's what I've based these names on.
Absolutely not okay with Holman going out. Everyone else you listed, sure.

Well they where pretty much certain on Izak so big grain of salt till their is an announcement
Yeah, but its' a different vibe between the two situations, so don't think its comparable. Not like Flanders is from melb. More the country. Where Izak had his family and friends in adelaide pulling him home.

Agree Jen, completely different set of circumstances. I was hoping Dimma had gotten in Sammy’s ear, looks like whatever was said has worked!

Oh I agree with that, I just never saw Izak leaving. So it's probably just fresh in my mind

If Flanders goes, Prestia would be an interesting stopgap option in the middle. Experienced, knows Dimma, knows the club. And I don’t have a problem with him compared to most of the other blokes who fled around that time.

But Touk, Rowell, Flanders, Prestia, Rogers, with Lombard to come is quite a vertically challenged group of mids.

Understandable its easy to be burned again by these when they drag on. But I think we'll see a different outcome. I reckon he just wanted to get some footy under him.. doesn't harm driving his price up either way. lol And probably also wanted to see who the coach was and maybe have a chat.

That's why there's a possibly after his name BUT if a Dusty Martin comes along, I'd say he's toast. Great team man, hard as nails but just doesn't get enough of the ball. I've always felt he's a lesser version of Lincoln McCarthy for the Lions. Both play a similar game except McCarthy gets possessions and hits the score board most weeks. Great to have options for once though.

Where did you hear that Jen? That’s great if correct
"Hardwick will sit in on player exit interviews next week.
Before that the SUNS will take on the Kangaroos in Hobart, trying to match the 10 wins they recorded as a club in both 2014 and 2022."

There's been some rumours about treloar also who I'd take before prestia.
We needed Treloar 2 years again when he left the Pies. Now, not so much. He’s good, but not super different to what we have and does have some leg injuries constantly.

Plus, his manager said pretty emphatically that he wants to stay at the Dogs.

What about, Darcy Parish?

Prestia can replace Suns legend Jed Anderson

“GOLD COAST

How do you say no to Dustin Martin if he comes knocking on your door?

That wouldn’t be easy, but Gold Coast has to ask itself if securing Dusty is in its best interests heading into 2024, given its tight salary cap structure.

Richmond has made it clear that it wants Dusty to honour the final year of his contract with the club, which would see him become the seventh Tiger to reach 300 games next season.

There is also the not-insignificant matter of $1.3 million that Martin is owed in the last year of his deal, which the Tigers won’t want to pay a cent of if he moves to Gold Coast.

Dusty, 32, is open to joining his old coach Damien Hardwick at the Suns, away from what he sees as the prying AFL goldfish bowl of Melbourne.

The Suns could make the financials happen if it had to, but it would squeeze other areas of the cap. For instance, they will have to stump around $600,000 per season for Sam Flanders to ensure he stays with the club, given the interest coming from rivals.

Could the Suns spread out the Dusty money across a longer period of time, and lock him in for two or three years. Or wait until he finishes this contract at Richmond and take him as a rising 34-year-old who could be the cherry on the Gold Coast finals assault? Watch this space.”

Riley: “is Ben King gettable?”
Cal: “No”
