Thought we could have squeezed a bit more out of it but roughly 450 more points plus an end of 1st next year. Now to offer up one or two of those future picks and see what we can get.

Back to hating Craig cameron.
11 and Burgess for 23 and 26.
18 for north's end of first round future
It's basically 23,26,27,35, dogs future 1st and an end of first next year for pick 4 and Chris Burgess.

Massive W for the club in terms of point allocation which is exactly what Craig Cameron talked about the other day.

So how does it work now? Say we go into the draft with that hand and 6 list spots, does that mean 61,65,70,73 vanish? Or after we get rid of a few picks to match Walter, those picks then become available to match the number of list spots?

Because I assume those late picks will come in quite a bit given the amount of matching that will be done.

Also best wishes to Chris Burgess, 2x frosty, 1x premiership player. Played defence, ruck & forward for free. While turning a profit for us.

Hopefully plays afl next year

I guess, more picks trade or involved in Chol, Hollands trade. List spots must equal pick number when draft starts. We will be coming into draft with 6-7 lists spots according to Cameron.

Moving pick into future since we have enough this year, I guess. Nothing wrong with it, IMO.

Also depends on free agency compo and bids.
Ben McKay pushed 17 to 18 this year.
Now throw in possible 4 bids before that pick and it goes to 22 (Walter, Read, Rogers and Croft).
How many first round bids next year?

Makes sense to ask for future picks for Chol and Hollands too.

Could give Hawthorn a couple of those late picks for their FS as we can't use them anyway.

F2 for Chol and 65 + 70 for example.

As I posted on the draft board..

and GC on-trades both picks...(and then on trades pick 14 that they got in an on trade)

It's now #4,#46,#51, F3 & Burgess for...
#23,#26,#27,#35, F1 (Dogs), F1 (North, end of round)

I'm sure some of the numbers are a little off now (that's what they were at the time of the trades), but at roughly speaking, GC are up by 145pts and 2 future firsts.

I'm a little worried about how many picks we have. We can only use as many picks as we have vacancies on our list, and while we might get another club to help us out a little, it's still a LOT of picks.

We also don't have THAT many points spare (at least, not on a worst case scenario), so ideally I'd be looking to trade our current picks up so we have fewer, higher value, picks rather than moving more into next year.

We can always trade during draft night if more points needed. Also as picks are used by teams to match bids late picks become better picks (more points). 300 pints or so deficit would be fine too.

Isn’t there something around you have to have as many list spots as you do pics? Or is that prior to the trade period can somebody clear that up?

If we’re okay with all the pics with have now then it’s a really good result. If we have to on trade some more to get consolidation well, then maybe not

If you look at what we gave up and what we now have on our pocket, it’s a good result. I do wonder why we want so much collateral in next years draft

I don't think there is a need to get future picks for a particular purpose, just a product of getting only what we need for bid matching and then pushing the excess value to next year when hopefully we have options in terms of attracting and trading for players

Should be possible to consolidate a few picks if needed. Geelong for example don't have many picks, so might swap whatever they get for Ratugolea for a few later ones.

Regarding the bold bit, if we can't use the value this year it makes sense to move it forward a year surely? I know everyone is desperate for a big signing, well the trades are there next year now if the club can get someone interested. Two first's and 20 is enough to get almost any player.

It's now up to Dimma to get the team improving on field, and wooing the right player.

Probably still a little short on points, although bare in mind the first bid drags the later picks in a bit, probably giving another 100-200 points. If Croft is bid on before Rogers that will help too for the same reason.

If North don't bid on Walter now (or even do it at 3) it's no problem. Come on North, don't be kents!
