Just a thought. We have a lot of OOC players right now. Is this a way of side stepping the draft picks vs list spots?

I believe senior list spots must match number of picks when drat starts or extra picks are gone. Cameron mentioned we will go with 6-7 list spots into draft.

At present, Day, Casboult, Sharp, Chol, Constable, Burgess, Hollands would be 7spots. Day and Casboult could re-rookied.

Players like Berry cloud be delisted to create a list spot and then re-rookied.

So they actually have to be “de-listed” and not just ooc?

Not sure, Day and Casboult are free agents. Berry under contract would be like Greenwood, Thompson - would have to be de-listed first.

It'd be a negotiating position.

Probably mostly has to do with how a late pick would be next to useless to us as we already have too many picks, so we'd be looking for a pick upgrade instead.

I'd be targeting Chol, 37 & 61 for 32,53 & F3. We can add some junk picks if needed, and should remind them that the picks we'll be giving them will be worth more after we burn all of ours on academy picks (so 37 will turn out to be ~31 after we burn the 6 picks we'll have ahead of it...). I'd accept the deal without 53/61 if needed.

Might be wrong here, but I thought if an AFL contract is due to expire in 2023, then the expiry date for all, is 31st October....

I believe you're right, but that doesn't mean both parties can't state that they don't intend to renew the contract before then.

So Chols worth a pick in the 40s roughly? Guesstimating*

Good deal for the hawks getting a key forward on a good pay packet for 4 years maybe 5

Roughly, yeah.

An early 3rd seems fair for a guy who couldn't get a regular game for us last year, and is less likely to next year.

What I'm suggesting is what is likely to be an early 3rd next year, and a few bonus points (~200) for this year.

Brodie McLaughlin on trade radio in a minute.
Interesting to see what he says..
Sounds like him leaving was just a key position numbers thing with Walter and Read coming in. Nothing else really said. Didn’t sound like it was a shock to him.

It’s ridiculous that you have to delist a player on your list then re recruit them to add them to the rookie list yet you can upgrade a rookie freely. Category b rookie makes sense but time to just have 40 list spots

IMO, the whole system is stupid. So many ridiculous rules regarding trades, lists. Let's see how academy rules, bidding, points look after announced review.

No surprises, we are all big fans of our messiah
Now with concessions gone Cameron is doing OK, no? One day when he will land a big fish, we all will worship him.

Love how Hawks fans are surprised that we don't give up Chol for chips (at least for now, haha). At the same time, they want world for Koschitzke.
