Hollands is just like the Bowes situation. Both should be inside mids getting played else where because of our inside talent.

Probably be a future 2nd from Carlton + pieces?

Best of luck to Elijah, he showed excitement when he got drafted but unfortunately he’s not a winger and Humphrey looks 2x the player

Seems like he wants some points this year and something next year for Hollands so not going to be great.

More concerning is the mention of going into deficit, why would you trade pick 18 this year for 20 next year is it’s going to push back your first next year. Hope he has something up his sleeve or I’m going to me pissed
Hasn't a clue. Much the same attitude towards Flanders last year and look what happened. I hope Elijah kills it at Carlton but nobody at the club will care.

He won't get to play inside mid at Carlton, strange move. Suggests a lack of ambition to me, just wants to go with his brother.

He should look somewhere like St Kilda, or Adelaide. Both need inside mids. Hell Sydney before this trade period would have been good too.

He looked so promising to start with, but moving on is the correct decision imo. The club have so many young mid's, and will draft more over the next few years.

The more I think about this trade, the more I think there was a 'wink wink nudge nudge' element where we got an agreement from North not to bid on our academy players.

It just doesn't make sense otherwise.

On the other hand, it Walter gets bid on at 4 instead of 2, that saves us ~500 points, costs North nothing, and that trade suddenly becomes a good deal all round.

Why it does not make sense to you? It make sense to me.

We just moved the pick (basically the same value) to next year. We obviously don't need it this year and next year it could become handy. Yeah, North may not bid on Walter but the end of 1st round is a good pick. Equal trade.

Listening to Cameron talk. Ugh! Can he talk up a player for once? Calls Chol lazy. Says Hollands is surplus, essentially. And why even mention salary…

Even if true, just spin it so it doesn’t look like a discount sale and that we rate both players still… it’s not hard. I swear he has no PR and marketing training.

Even when talking about academy (which was better, at least), should have also mentioned that we don’t have a thing called “father-sons” and never have. I did like that he feels if academy changes, FS should too though. Imagine the melts :)

I’d love to play poker with Cameron, I’m a bang average player but I reckon I could take him for he’s entire net worth

And yet, Suns still insist on F2 for Chol, haha. Let's see what the final outcome will be. I don't have high hopes.

So what's happening with Sharp? It seems there no interest at all. Something is not right, clubs know something we don't? Surely, he could get opportunity somewhere? I probably liked him more in VFL across the season than Hollands.

Bloody hell, he might just de-listed. What a decline.

Yeah, likely to be delisted at this point.

No interest from Freo or WCE.

Reckon he will go back to WA and try to get on a list over the summer.

Would be disappointing to effectively loose all depth for very little immediate (or at least tangible) gains.

On the plus side, our cap should be in a very, very healthy spot. Could juggle some contracts now and front load too to smooth things out. Or just pay King a big pay cheque if he extends over the summer.

Hopefully something in the works for next year…

If he could talk up the players we are trading out as much as GC2015 talks up academy players we would be getting top 10 picks for Chol and Hollands.

How about just being neutral and not giving much away. Can't be that hard, surely.

"Good player, but we are pretty stacked in that position so finding it hard to break into the team on a consistent basis. If he can find a club with more opportunity it might be a good thing. We are open to see if a trade can get done. But he is contracted, and we are happy to keep him and let him fight for that spot over the preseason."

Then, Stop Talking!!!!
Suspect that is the hard part. Trying to be smart, trying to be a 'good' interview for the media, get in their good books. Here is a tip, Craig. You don't work for the media and if the media can burn you for a great story, they will.

Some people should not be allowed to go near a microphone when there is something to actually say. Let them talk when there is nothing on the line.

Two people that should never be near a microphone during trade period:

1. Craig Cameron
2. Lachie Weller
