Just backtracking back to Jeffrey, i remember in 2019-20 there was talks Jeffrey was super talented but didn't want to commit to us just yet. With the help of these Darwin games he's basically going to be a Sun for life now.

Had basically 2 season ending injuries, high ceiling swingman potentially. Cleanest hands overhead, agile, skillful and can kick goals.

Seems that 2028 is actually 5 years so yes its a fair contract. Like i've mentioned before i wonder what life would look like if we saw their contracts. Could be an absolute bargain in literally 1 season.

I was hoping he would play half back this year (Preseason call), silky intercepting half back is exactly what we need.

He would be a deadly forward but with Luko there its just impossible to fit the Big 4 in
I think his short term future with us has to be a half back. He’s a good field kick, which is needed. Free up someone like Powell or Weller to play more wing while playing a similar role.

Jeffery, Powell, Andrew. That’s at least three people who can rotate though and kick decent enough out of the back half.

Need him and Rosas to come on in a big way. Both in the right bracket to start impacting, and both in positions of need. Can they add some class to our game?

Not sure the two of them have it sorted between the ears though. Time will tell, but I’m optimistic enough.

As for his contract, I agree with some others that four years is too long. Better than four years to the Crab though. At least I feel Jeffrey might make it at the top level.

Just a feeling, or you got some info?

If so he'll be playing somewhere else next year as we can only match 3 in the first round.

Be interesting if he gets bid on before Rogers, what happens then?
Will has more upside than Jake - so no surprise if another team sees what we haven't for some years now. I just hope he gets picked up by the Suns. I'd be surprised if Suns haven't allowed for Will going before Jake - just swap things around a bit.

Bloody Collingwood. First, they got for free Markov and now they want Will, haha. No way.
The sixth player who could receive a night one bid this year is Will Graham, who’s the fourth young gun out of the Suns academy. He’s also expected to be in attendance at the first night of the draft.

Multiple sources have told foxfooty.com.au Collingwood is considering launching a bid on Graham with its first-round selection, which is currently Pick 19.

Quick and powerful, yet also clean and composed with ball in hand, Graham averaged 16.5 disposals and 5.0 marks while going at 79.5 per cent efficiency by foot for the Allies during the national championships playing primarily as a defender with a few midfield stints. He also had VFL exposure, playing four games for the Suns.

The Suns have already prepared for an array of early bids on their academy prospects as they hold six second-round selections: Picks 24, 26, 27, 32, 36 and 38. However it’s understood the Suns are open to splitting Pick 24 – the second pick of the second round of the draft – in order to gain more points. The Brisbane Lions are one of several clubs exploring ways to get their hands on Pick 24.

No need to worry. All four will be Suns in a few weeks. No way Dimma lets any of them slip out of his fingers. Trust the process.

We have to get used to this anyway. Our academy is finally bearing fruit and it's likely we'll find ourselves in a similar situation multiple times over the next few years with Lombard and Nancarrow potentially both being first round picks in 2024. Then we've got Addinsall, Murray, Uwland and possibly also White the following year. Add on Jarvis and Hill the year after that. All/most of these players look like future first round picks right now. I get the feeling we'll be matching A LOT of bids over the next few years as opposition clubs get increasingly annoyed by the strength of our academy. The first thing we'll have taken from us we'll be our Darwin access so get ready for that one.

Agree with most but are we watching the same Nancarrow? He absolutely is not a first round pick as of current. He was very poor in almost everything this year.

How are we paying for all these first Rd picks?
Only 12months ago the club was complaining saying first Rd picks cost to much… especially up north.
Yet here we are 12months later

Local kids and potentially finals contenders - hypothetically we shouldn’t have to over pay. That said we will lose players along the way, will hurt a lot less if we are winning though

Nancarrow has Will Bella vibes… I don’t think he gets picked up… he has fallen off a cliff
Fair call. Nanc definitely dropped away after starting the year as one of the most highly rated talls in his draft class. I guess that can happen when you're a bottom ager and you're playing against kids that are 18/19, particularly if you play in a key position. I wouldn't give up on Nancarrow yet but he'll certainly have to get going early on if he wants to go back into first round contention. I assume he'll once again play for our academy in the Talent League as well as potentially earning selection for the Allies if he performs. Then he'll have the Oakleigh and Scotch programs he'll be involved in as well so there will be plenty of opportunity for him to rise up the ranks.

You'd hope most of these youngsters would take less to stay at their hometown club when it's regularly competing in the finals. That's the hope but the reality is that we're going to lose some of them along the way. Some will seek more opportunity elsewhere, some will want more money etc. It's just the reality of what happens when you experience on field success but there's a strong hope that we can keep most of the local high end talent and in doing so create deeper roots within the community.

Interviewed by idiots.
They are likely to ask him how he will cope moving interstate and if VIC clubs are reaching out ( yes they are that stupid) these are the guys that asked JOM if he was wrapped to be coming home to Victoria when he went to Hawthorn

That's the hope. Whether we can do it is another question altogether, but there's no denying that we have the talent and the head coach that are capable of competing in multiple finals series over the next few years. Perceptions can change very quickly when you have a young list and qualify for September.

They'll probably also ask him if he'd ever be interested in coming home to Victoria later in his career. At that point Jed will break their hearts and tell them that his roots are in Queensland and WA.

Whiting only mentioned 2 meniscus surgeries for Graham at the end of last year in this article. Can actually anybody confirm that Graham did have 2 ACLs? Surely, Whiting would mention it.

Heard the stories about 2 ACL
But if that was the case he would have missed atleast 2 years of football?
Should be able to find how many games per year he has played since U16s for instance
