You'd have to think we are. But having said that, the chance of luring their best and fairest away seems pretty remote. I wouldn't get too hung up on it.

Success in the poaching attempt isn't what I am concerned about. If we aren't trying hard though then we are ****ed and becoming far too reliant on draft kids coming good again. We will lose them all before they peak cos we are a bottom dweller. We need to sell hope to the talent.

Getting so over this club repeating mistakes.

you’d think it would be hard to poach AFL club captains.. but

Everyone seems to poach ours just fine.

Hi folks, hope it's OK to put this here.
Can someone tell me what position Joel Jeffrey was playing when he kicked 9 goals in the reserves?
Cheers.

I for one really rate his input and facts..
Come back soon!
Totally agree, the forum is weaker without his input, we have already lost thurls64 great insight since some have questioned him for just trying to provide insight, I would hate to lose eppo67 as well

Hey guys, haven’t heard anything out of the Eagles camp but it appears like J. Kennedy and S. Hurn could be on the way out.

I think eithers fit with a 1 or 2 year playing contract into a coaching gig would be a great fit for you!

You’d get a legitimate Key Forward who has a history of working really well with another tall. King would get so much out of working next to him and then he can settle into a coaching role in the future.

Or with Hurn a real leader and good sized defender.

We wanted Kennedy last year. He surprisingly had a better year in 2021 than he did in 2020 (41 goals in 18 games vs 34 goals in 17 games) so I could see us enquiring again given our desperate need for an experienced key forward to support King. Kennedy would also be an unrestricted free agent so it's not like it'll cost us anything at the trade table. He's certainly not in a position to demand big money from us either and at 34 we're literally probably getting one year out of him (two max) but maybe that's all we need to get things going and for another young key forward to come through or join us from another club.

Only thing stopping Kennedy is moving across the country for 1-2 years when he could retire as an eagles legend.

But saying that, you can tell hurn and him still want to play and they still got it.

Hurn is holding up Witherden & Foley’s growth while Kennedy is obviously holding up Oscar Allen’s growth.

For the best result, Kennedy should leave, and Gold Coast could be a fantastic destination for him.

Hurn would be nice too.

Both would cost peanuts but we have limited spots ?

In popular opinion but it’s a no from me given how he pulled out last minute on us last year and his age too.

In saying that though he is the best KPP up forward available on the market. Who else is there? Casboult? Yeah no thanks I'd take Kennedy a proven goal kicking beast any day! He would give us 40 goals guaranteed next year and help us crack into the 8 - would also provide Kingy with some much needed mentorship and experience up forward. King and Kennedy would be straight up dangerous!

Would be nice if King wasn't matched up against opposition best defender. Agreed Kennedy is a beast. Suddenly silly season is becoming more interesting. First year that I can remember the talk is about who might be joining us and not who we are loosing. Little wins.

Don’t worry, we’ll be worrying next year ;)
