Wow really !!

21 year old kid makes a mistake once in his entire life (career) and has been fantastic apart from that and been a leader throughout his juniors
you are a very very harsh judge. But if that line of thinking was to be taken you would not consider him at all
It was a pretty big mistake to be honest. You'd have to think there were multiple points where he could / should have decided to re-evaluate what he was doing. How many times would they have been told do NOT break the COVID restrictions as it will put the season in jeopardy. It wasn't like a split second decision where he did the wrong thing.

You just hear about the impact that social issues have had with interstate players wanting a trade back to Melbourne - Oh Brad Crouch got caught with cocaine - this is going to impact his trade value etc.. Got to be applied to Melbourne based players wanting to go elsewhere.

Of course I'd still have him.
I do think it takes a bit of gloss off though.

It's fair enough for you to want a good pick for him. But if he asks to be traded, Richmond will be offered probably our pick 22 which I think is fair enough for a young guy who has potential, played a few good games but hasn't really done much at this point. I don't really think you can be demanding a top 10 pick or anything.

With Dawson trying to get to Port does that shake anyone loose to us?
He definitely said Port? or just SA?

Bonner one the fringe and I can see Port turfing him. I don't really rate him though.

Frederick a young guy who has been given a sniff but might be down the pecking order. Few promising signs early but still raw.

Dan Houston be a great get but probably a pipe dream.

Caldwell had more pedigree and exposed form and was only worth a mid 2nd Rd pick.

Prestia was worth pick 6 and was significantly more proven.

I don't know of anytime in history when a 10 game player after 4 years in the system has demanded a top 10 pick.

Pick 3 or future firsts in no way should be part of a trade.

Aliir Aliir had more runs on the board, was 25, and was traded for a future 2nd

at best I'd think they get 19.

What Richmond forget is yeah he is contracted but what if he doesn’t want to be there. We have seen it with players you have to get it done. I’m over the Weller trade tactics opponents supporters think that we are push overs

He isn't contracted

Agree, if he asks to be traded. They can't dictate the terms.

I mean, we supporters might not be push overs but unfortunately the club has repeatedly shown how incompetent they are at the trade table so I don't blame them for thinking that.

Weller for pick 3
Atkins for 4 years on 400k
trading Wright for a future 4th round pick (and paying 1/3 his salary)
Delisting Lyons
Losing Jack Martin for nothing
Saad for a 2nd round pick
and lets not forget about us sending 4x picks in the 20's to west coast for pick 18.

plenty of evidence that those in charge of the club are in fact push overs.

Is incompetent the same as push overs :'(

Jarrod Brander anyone?
Not really in West Coasts best 22 consistently.

195cm AA U18 CHF
Playing on the wing as he's behind all the Edges forwards
Played 1,2,8,11 games across his first 4 seasons.
Be 23 at the stat of next season.

Doubt they would want to trade but bit of talk about it.

Highly rated Callum Coleman-Jones will decide next week if he will accept a two-year offer to remain at Punt Road or pursue a move, with Gold Coast and North Melbourne leading the push for the out-of-contract player.

While Coleman-Jones could theoretically walk to North Melbourne through the pre-season draft for nothing should he choose to leave Richmond and accept the Roos’ offer, he is unlikely to pursue this option and would want a trade were he to leave.
Gold Coast appear favourites to secure him if Coleman-Jones decides to leave. The Suns also have a strong hand of draft picks and could readily do a deal with Richmond.

He will meet with his manager Michael Doughty next week to decide on his future.

Got this weird feeling CCJ will stay. Using us to get a better deal.

Yeah, as much as I'd like him, I just can't really imagine him playing in our jumper.

If Richmond have to pony up an extra 100k to retain CCJ then maybe we have the opportunity to get Chol for a discount.. massive downgrade, but still would be valuable for our list.. at the right price.

Chol is an UFA. he can walk to any club

Yes, but if Richmond can only afford to pay him 250k, we could pay him 300k

If they can afford to pay him 350k, then we may need to offer him 400k

More they spend on CCJ, less they'll have to spend on Chol. They can still match any offer made on him.

Chol was dominated by an undersize Burgess in the ruck. Even if we were to get Chol for 50k I still think he would be a list clogger. CCJ or bust

Yeah I'm torn on him.
Obviously talented.
Very inconsistent.
Time on ground very low this year.
Plays in a position of need but you definitely can't rely on him.

Chol had a really good last quarter against us
- 5 disposals (all contested) @ 80%, 2 contested marks, 11 hitouts

But he was very soft and Burgess clearly beat him in the first half.

He did kick 4 goals against the Lions - something that Sam Day has only done 3 times in 143 career games.
