Guys, I keep deleting posts referencing this, but can we move away from suggesting or making juvenile jokes about the bloodlines of players.

This is a public forum and parents of players do read here.

Early father-sons who are locks to be picked by their father's club tend to slide somewhat. I'm no expert on draft position but McCabe seems to be around a pick 10 - 15, so if he slides a bit then he'll go around 20.

I raise this because it's interesting why they tend to slide, maybe other clubs don't spend too much time doing due diligence so are reticent to call their name until they are absolutely sure they are worth that pick?

Calsher with his mum and sister ( I think )
If we do end up drafting young Calsher you could only imagine the emotion in the room with all his family as it is announced. I think it will be your normal emotion x 10.

Left field question for those that remember better then me - was it David Netiz who smashed Luke's collar bone in a good old fashioned fair bump ?

Yes it was!
A couple of my mates are friends with Neita and the few times I have come across him I remind him that he ended poor Luke McCabes career!
He is a good guy and worked for the Hawks for a few years!

Hey SYL do you have any info on Hawthorns interest in Calsher Dear as I remember you say a while back that Hawthorn were not overly interested or something similar?

50/50 to be rookied.

Essendon and Giants have since sniffed much harder and if we want him we’re likely going to need to match a late bid.

This morning saw this:

“The Hawks are also in the market for additional later picks to amass draft points to cover bids on father-son prospects Will McCabe and Calsher Dear.”

Are there signs or have they both nominated Hawks yet?

Looking forward to when McCabe steaming out of backline passes it to McGuinness while doing a number on the oppo best player who then passes to Dear …… another goal to the Hawks 😀
If only the correct spelling was in the thread title or something to copy from.

With Will seeing there is a massive chance we will draft him can he start pre season training with the 1-4 year players when pre season returns before being drafted.

And maybe Calsher
