Assuming we nab young Dear and he earns a spot in our best 22, it would not surprise me if he was able to make a contest in the ruck if called upon to do so. It certainly would not be his main gig and I doubt it would be his secondary gig. However there could be times when we want to play just one ruck and Dear could be the man to provide a chop out. There have been plenty of undersized players who handled ruck work - going right back to our own John (Kanga) Kennedy who played at 188cm and, more recently, Adam Goodes at 191cm

Exactly and Jordan Lewis did it In our premiership years. More as a 3 man up! But still contributed to the rucking at 186 cm.

Physical makeup similar to Rough this year or 30 years ago though. In truth the game has changed significantly since our last flag, which rendered Clarko obsolete to everyone but the shinbeggers.

I've seen pictures of him. Just haven't seen him play.

Mind you Dustin Fletcher played on Jason Dunstall and Tony Lockett as a schoolboy.

OT but pretty weird coincidence.

I've seen Dustin Fletcher's son play a bit during his stint in Cincinnati.

Honestly don't think either of them look like Calsher.

FWIW, Calsher (at a guess) will be clocking in around 94KG after a preseason or two.

If DGB's Wikipedia entry is correct, Calsher is already 7 KG heavier than him (listed at 88KG - 10KG lighter than Rough at his retirement weight).

He's going to be huge like his old man if he's good enough to stick around.
