Guys, I keep deleting posts referencing this, but can we move away from suggesting or making juvenile jokes about the bloodlines of players.

This is a public forum and parents of players do read here.

From Zero Hanger on McCabe...

'Potential Landing Spots
Hawthorn (F/S selection)

AFL Comparisons
Ben McKay
Billy Frampton
Ben Miller'

Disrespectful comparisons. It's a meme to be likened to Frampton.
How would you feel if McCabe was in the conversation for worst premiership winning player?😉 Zero hanger is a dumpster fire but still better than fox footy…

If McCabe can turn into a Tom Barrass, Hayden Young or Sam Taylor type...wow.

I can see McCabe becoming something of a Matthew Scarlett type player, a solid and manful defender but with an athletic ability streaming off half back that intercepts and rebounds the ball before it can get to dangerous spots. He has a fair way to go to reach that level, but I feel it's a more comparable play style than to Barrass or Taylor who are predominantly 1:1 stoppers and intercept markers.

Ned’s not nominating

I wonder if we'll see him line up at Box Hill?

It could be an interesting strategy if we felt he might have some development left, see how he goes after a year or two in the VFL and by not having him nominate in this draft you're not losing out on father son rights if he does eventually.

I wonder why he wouldn't still nominate for the draft though. If he doesn't get picked up by anyone it gives him more flexibility to be signed up in the future as a SSP signing should he improve enough.

Might not have the interest from other clubs. He's coming from a long way back.

Also by not nominating it means he can nominate in the future and we can take him as a F/S I believe.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

No! On gettable they said he would stay at the Dragons and could potentially nominate next year as a F/S.

That must be right. Maybe SSP eligibility hinges on not being picked up in the immediate previous draft.

Ah I didn't listen to it. Same thing though, instruct him not to nominate just to preserve our access to him!

I would've thought a good player comp would be Alex Rance

Only 5 days out from deadline still no announcement, geez we like to do things at the deadline...
It’s with the AFL. The nomination process isn’t as simple as just writing his name down or making a tweet, they have to fill in paper work and approve it as such.
