Those days are gone. Now not only are the best defenders negating the forward that are also winning the one on one instead of spoiling. There used to be players who never got a kick and all they did was spoil. Then you have Brian Lake out marking the key forward 1v1 and then getting the ball forward. Then you have freaks like Sicily who can play on a key forward and out make 1v1, leave his man to intercept, run it from defence and kick long laser passes to set up attacks.

No chance.

He's not in the top 10 of this draft and you don't use pick 2 and 3 on a list need from an over-reach.

If McCabe was speculated to go around picks 5-8 then MAYBE you could propose this as a possibility. But even then, North aren't selecting him over the guys who will be available. And we wouldn't match at that high of a number.

If they wanted a defender they'd go Curtin, theyre not going to bid on McCabe just to **** with Hawthorn.

Don’t think they will bid on McCabe but wouldn’t surprise me if North bid on Dear, You would have to think that AC would have spent a lot of time with the dear family when he was Hawks Coach maybe even after while Paul was sick supporting the family.
