Yeah thats correct I was put down at birth fortunately.

Any particular reason why you regret it? Will be a big help, cheers.
Well didn't take it on because of the cost and had no money at the time, but I probably wouldn't have used it all that much since we don't play at the g very often and I don't like cricket.

So yeah not really sure if I regret it but feel I missed an opportunity.

I looked at it for this reason because I do like cricket, but since I kinda hate Melbourne and the big city vibe, decided against doing that as often as I wanted to for the tests and shield cricket and such.

So I would generally state that if you do love footy & cricket in general, if you can get on the MCC, get on the MCC early as you can, because there are sports played there and you will get more money back than you put into it in the end of things if you love those sports. If you have hang ups about it, probably not for you unless you can eat the outlay yearly on a "maybe" basis.

Only worth it if you like going to neutral games. I chucked in my full membership a couple of years ago. Wasn't worth the $800 or so. I hate neutral games and Saints rarely play there and they rarely play finals. If we do play there I can just get a guest pass for the members if I want or if it's the Granny I can use my Saints membership.
But as I say, if you like neutral games then do it. I would do it anyway if I was you and then if you find it isn't worth it you can chuck it in later.

Wanted to get sainters thoughts on an MCC membership and whether it's worth the cost. Im in WA (so a bit out of the loop with it all) but moving to melb next year and ive been offered provisional. Ive flicked through other forums with mixes of fans from other clubs but the posts are a few years old and Im particularly after a St Kilda fans perspective, especially as we only have a few games at the G a year. Would appreciate any guidance from current MCC sainters and their experience.
Provisional member here, I would go a lot more if I had people to go with, it costs a pretty penny to bring a guest in ($50 for a regular game, double that for a final).

Provisional members can’t go to finals unless low attendance is anticipated, like this final against GWS.

It costs a lot and I’m paying well above my means for it but hoping it’s worth it in years to come. If you like footy (or cricket) and can see yourself liking it for the foreseeable future and can afford the costs, I think most people would advise you to keep it. Saints hardly play there ofc is the other thing to note.

It’s also a bit of an elitist thing given the exclusivity of the wait time and cost to entry, dress requirements etc. I know a few people who use it as a networking device also given this, so that might be a consideration given your line of work or if you’re into that sort of thing.

I used to know friends with memberships when I was young and it was great when you didn't have to pay for it. But a big part of people wanting it is not being able to get it easily for sure. I'm not a fan of cricket and without home games it's a bit pointless IMO.

Plus there's only 1 test a year and short form cricket is a TV sport

I did a similar calculation about 8 years ago when kids were tiny and mortgage was at max. Was offered it and just couldn’t justify hundreds a year for minimal expected usage. Haven’t really missed it tbh.

Since you can get Kayo so cheap it makes a lot of the stuff that you couldn't see without going much more accessible.

Is that a cool way of saying the wife said "No".

I reckon Collingwood go out in straight sets. They haven't looked good for a while and their training session with the injectors a couple of weeks ago would not have helped prepare them for finals. Melbourne will win reasonably comfortably today and Carlton will get them next week.

Commentators trying to make sure of it. If you hit the head with a shoulder you're ****ed.
Hit the head and Brayshaw KOd.

Legitimately no idea what the mro does, it’s a clear footballing action and accident but those campaigners make it up as they go.

Media defence has already begun.
I wonder what would happen if Ben Long jumped up and knocked somebody out with head high contact

It looked like he cocked a shoulder> wasn't deliberate but that's not the rule any more. He has to show that the was his only option. Don't think it was. But then with the show court who knows.
