Well it’s swings and roundabouts unless you think the umpires or the afl or both would rather the dogs win than Brisbane. I’d say the afl would rather Brisbane win.
I certainly don’t get into the broad conspiracies about umpiring in games (except that ****ed North game from a few years back) I’d just say it’s generally poor umpiring which last night absolutely was.

Fagan “Tonight was a finals like game” (lmao)

Play like that and you won’t make finals champion 😎

I reckon the Dogs were playing pretty ferocious footy and didn't let up. It definitely had the intensity but neither looked like they had much quality about them. Dogs look like they stole Lyon's play book.

I reckon he'll get games still. Don't think he was too bad, the defensive line actually held up well despite the loss. They were bombarded all night and the issues were further up the field. The front half were terrible and the mids average. He did a few nice things and a few inexperienced mistakes, he'd be lucky to have played 15 games at the top level. He's got great pace for his height.
He does have great pace and kicks ok. The rest of his game is a regular seconds player imo.

Yes and it will most likely get worse as less and less kids umpire. I do the seconds for my local side. I have for the last 35 years but the ammos are so short that I have to do the ones tomorrow. At 61 I am a genuine seconds umpire at best. It is a practice match but it’s still pathetic. I think afl umpires do pretty well considering the pool must be getting smaller. Not the afl pool which is obviously bigger this year but the pool to get these umpires.

I remember a crazy dickhead screaming racist rants at Milera and TDL. People were uncomfortably shifting but too scared to say anything. By that era it was pretty rare.
If you ever hear anyone I’d suggest don’t say anything to them but go straight to an attendant. They will organise the right people.

These days you can just text and get people removed. I doubt it would happen now without a backlash.

Sometimes you just get games like that but they can still be good sides. How many said the pies Geelong game was so much better than the tigers Carlton game? Most people but all of those sides will probably make the 8. None of our games are going to look pretty to outsiders at least until we get some tall forwards back.

How bad does Daniher look. Half hearted squib. Would hate it if he played for us.

Well it did last Saturday.

And it got a big backlash. That said there are not many times you can claim that we have luck on our side, but that idiot had the potential to derail our 150 celebration. The media fortunately didn't come after us but if they had it could have had the potential to cause massive damage. You only need one moron to undo a lot of hard work.

Dumbest thing is the supporter in our 150th year should have remembered one of our most iconic moments (Winmar’s photo).

I’m sure they’ll remember it now especially with Jamarah recreating it so fittingly.

Unfortunely, there are racist pricks supporting every club. Both those who show blatant, outward racism and those who display more subtle, casual racism that goes unchecked.

Most outlets these days know that those pricks don't represent everyone who support that club and going after an entire supporter base won't change the actions of those individuals or get those other supporters calling out the shit they hear in the crowd.

Surely going to go down as one of the great unfulfilled talents of our time. Has all the attributes and when he fires up (which is rare) he looks unstoppable but he also just mostly looks like he doesnt give a shit.

Was a great moment last night (albeit inspired by a horrible moment last week) and i think a very fitting reminder that as far as weve come with racial vilification and abuse weve still got a long long way to go.

It got a huge backlash but no one knows who it is and that was point in saying report the person. That person would now be banned if he was reported.

Whoever racially abused JUH last week probably did the Dogs a favour, it fired him up to play the best game of his career so far with 5 goals last night.

The same thing would happen with Winmar, the racial abuse he copped would fire him up to play better like that match against Collingwood in 1993.

Strange response, I was actually giving JUH a compliment for how well he played last night.

Looks like you are still bitter from the flogging we gave the Dogs last week.

Collingwood had an unmitigated disaster with their versions of it though. If you make a wrong move they will hang you out to dry on it. Fortunately we aren't very high profile so don't have the media ready to take us down. It's a bit of a worry that we haven't handed over the person responsible yet. If we can't find them it looks a bit like we weren't trying. Unless they've found her and she's a bit NQR and so the AFL and media are happy to let it slip past with some discrete management. They've shown pictures of the culprit in the past.

Hard to point fingers from where your club stands dickhead. The Dogs fans were some of the more racist fans in the past.

Yeah, you feel shame every time something comes on the news about it. Tarnishes us all with their shit behaviour.

Pies was systemic much like the high profile stuff, these largely fan instances are a case for AFL integrity in association with clubs to ort out the who given you'd need to canvas all angles in that section and investigate to find actual culprits whilst everyone around them is potentially screaming different things at the same time. This is why the Pies response was derided as it was for "being strong" about how much of a right arseh*le they were for decades against anyone of colour.

The only real tax that should be employed is if say you're in that section and you hear such things, you should be allowed to punch them in the throat to STFU and not have consequences. You know to get the point across in the moment that society shifted and it's just not cricket given an AFL environment.
