Isn’t that why they wouldn’t take Reid?
They will take Reid unless a club gives them something they can’t refuse, but I can’t see WCE overlooking Reid.

Could the AFL offer both the Eagles and us PP after both our first picks so the Eagles end up with Pick#1 Reid and Pick#2 Curtin with us ending up with Picks# 3 and #4? On saying that , do the Eagles qualify for a PP...?
The AFL won’t offer a PP to WCE given they won a flag in 2018. They have said as much publically.
I do think the AFL could back door them a pick by getting us to arrange a deal where we get Reid and they get 2 and a PP through us.

I could see that happening.
I just don’t know how invested we are in Reid? Maybe we see Curtin as just as good an option?

I can see them overlooking Reid. Reid liking posts when we hit 18th last week has to be a worry for them.
I think at the end of the day there might be an arrangement if we really want Reid where they get something small in addition to pick 2. Can’t see is giving up the farm and not sure they want to gamble with later first round picks?
Would he really be that thrilled to get to WC? I don't get this default assumption that every kid NEEDS to stay in their home city. Pair him up with Cam Zurhaar or Griffin Logue, two Perth boys who are loving life in Melbourne now

why do both 2nd picks need to be traded...It only needs to be their pick#1 and our Pick#2 if they want Curtin and we want Reid...

If WC take Reid we should be going McKercher and Curtin.
If WC take Curtin we should be looking at Reid and Watson.
If WC win tonight we should be looking to deal out pick 2 for 3 and their second round pick. Trade port pick and eagles second round for Gold Coast first round pick.
Whether we hold 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 we win.
There’s no way we should be entertaining trading up to pick 1 with the eagles. If they want Curtin they need to take him at pick 1.

Why bother trading at all? They take Curtin with 1 and we take Reid with 2.

No. Eagles don’t deserve a PP.
Perfect . But will they do that? Alternatively they could look at what Melbourne are offering. Eg freo first pick plus their first (likely 18 or so) plus their first next year. Would mean that eagles likely miss Curtin though. Any other western Australians highly rated or is it just Curtin at the pointy end?
Give them a future 5th rounder that must be traded
How good would that be…dodge a third spoon, stop that bloody losing record, deny tanking accusations, keep picks, get Reid
