Joel Freijah, Darcy Wilson and Mitch Edwards are so ridiculously underrated in this draft.

Joel Freijah in particular is ridiculous and quickly becoming my favourite player in this draft purely because of how little respect he's getting and how good of a package he brings.

All parts of Harley's game were on song here, bursting through packs, winning the hard ball, taking contested marks and driving his team forward. He copped a lot of attention from the Falcons boys with some big hits, but he always bounced back up and kept going like the future Champ he seems destined to be.

What are your thoughts on Freijah’s champs mate?

I didn’t really see what I wanted to see with the step up for him. I worry about his consistency week to week and even within games. I love his upside but I prefer the floor of Wilson and Windsor personally as outside mids.

I do agree though that he is being underrated severely - I’m seeing some people ranking him as low as late 30s - 40s - there aren’t 30 better prospects than him, especially not in this draft.

His Champs games were poor on the whole outside of his last game vs. Metro but I tend to elevate those who have a good champs rather than drop those who aren't great.

While I think consistency is important, I'd rather take a bloke who is inconsistent but shows a massive ceiling than one who has a high floor but low ceiling.

I love his mix of outside/inside, the fact he works really hard both ways with a great tank and at 191cm he's a great size for a modern-day winger. He's got excellent kicking versatility and is super clean with his hands.

He's a top 20 lock for mine and I'd be shattered if he drifts past there and we don't have a pick in sight.

Anywhere from 10-20 (before NGA, F/S)

Some thoughts as a non-expert.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have Harley Reid so heavily in our sights that we'd be willing to go a little further than some people here would be happy with.

Reid is a much better hbf than Curtin. You'd draft Curtin to be a KPD, one day. I also haven't seen anywhere close to enough to call him "Bont-like" as a mid. This positional in-between stuff is a concern for me, not a positive. Its not like Reid, who can be great in multiple roles. It's more like people trying to imagine a role for Curtin.

He is a third tall defender who grows into a key back, in my opinion. Anything else is speculation.

I have little doubt that Watson will be a good small forward at the AFL level. He will be a pain to match up on. He has too many tricks already and is a great athlete. My question is whether a player who might only get 10 touches and 2 goals is more important than McKercher getting 30 touches.

I don't know if McKercher can play off hbf or the wing but if he can then he would be very good for us to add.

Walter, Reid and Sanders are the three best players in the draft.

I get the feeling that we favour the long term performance over tearing home at the end. Our draft board will be closer to the boards from 10 months ago than what many people have today.

I've heard magical things from people who know him. Apparently he'll be the steal of the draft.

It’s that little bit of burst that he had in and around the stoppages that really stands out to me. Goal kicking wingers don’t grown on trees either.

Another tall wing/mid I like is Clay Hall from WA has had some really good games at senior level and was one of WA bests in the champs. Doesn’t quite have the skill of Freijah, but has a point of difference with his height and running capacity.

I no longer think WCE will take 2 and 16 for Reid. It would probably take at least 2 and 3 to get him which I don't think the club will do. Reid will end up at WCE.

Big Game Zane had his finger prints all over this win for the Power. Taking marks, kicking goals and setting up his teammates with kicks into the 50.

I try to keep things positive but it feels like every week one or two Talent League broadcasts are effected by technical difficulties. This time it was the sound which disappeared after 5 mins and never returned.

Clay Hall 12/05/05 - Peel Thunder - 190cm - Midfielder/Wing - Tall midfielder, who offers a real point of difference with his height and running capacity combination. Hall is equally at home either inside or outside the contest. He is capable of winning the inside ball and bursting out of stoppages, but can also do it on the outside with his running capacity and link up play. When in space, he can hit some really nice kicks off his left foot, but when under pressure he does have a tendency to bomb it long. This is however, something that can be easily worked on. One aspect of his game that is a bit undersold is his defensive efforts. He is an excellent two-way runner and tackler, which a reason why is so good around the stoppages. He has had some fantastic games at WAFL senior level and was one of WA's most consistent performers at the championships, which resulted in him receiving All-Australian honours. From all accounts Hall is the ultimate professional, going above and beyond to try and improve his footy. Athletically, there aren't many question marks, he already has a well developed tank, has a little bit of pace, and excellent agility. At the championships he averaged 27 disposals per game and at WAFL senior level he has avg over 18 disposals per game. Considering all the above I think he'll be considered from pick 15 onwards, although man phantoms have him out beyond pick 30 which seems like a bargain to me.

My dream draft would be

Swap F1 for GC 1st
Swap Port 1st for GWS 1st and salary dump taking on Nick Hayes say pick 12 that's about a 4 pick upgrade depending on finals results.

AFL assistance allows pre listing of Sanders

2. Curtin - CHB/HBF
3. Watson - FP
5. O'Sullivan - FB
12. Caddy - CHF
39. Shoenmaker - BP
PL. Sanders - Mid

We get our 2 key backs for the next decade, a freakish small forward, a hard working, physical CHF as well as a top 10 genuine mid for free

This is a draft where we can get not only best available but what we need too. We don't need another 3 Mids with hopes/expectations 1 can learn to play wing or HBF and another to take our captain's spot as starting mid in their first 20 games

I'm not an under 18 watcher, so I can't comment on particulars, but I'm definitely of the view that our midfield is not quite as well-balanced as people think.

There's a consensus that we're well-stocked in the middle, and I on the whole, I agree, except we're under-sized - potentially great players in LDU and TT, but the former is 188 and 87, and the latter is 189 and 76

Compare that to Petracca (187 and 93), Dunkley (191 and 91), Ollie Wines (187 and 98), Pendlebury (191 and 86) - come finals time, those players are going to be influential, and Sheezel and Wardlaw might be great long term, but they're never going to be 190/90 mids

So, a long way around to say, I can see a spot for a tall mid like Clay Hall
