I think Duursma is the player with the most upside this draft

Good size, agile, dangerous around goals, can accumulate and classy

I’d probably have him 4th atm behind Harley Reid, Watson and Curtin
He reminds me a bit of Rozee in what I think he can become at the top level. He’ll have an impact early around goals.

Not sure he fits us as I don’t think he’d become an inside midfielder for us and then up forward he’s an awkward size compared to what we have. His traits are what we need, but he would probably be resigned to a wing/half forward role for us and I personally prefer Darcy Wilson in that role.

Will be interesting to see how Duursma, Reid and Wilson play together at the champs.

What are people’s thoughts on whether McKay leaves and the likely compensation?
I think in all likelihood he will go.
Whilst that would be disappointing, I feel like we are in a really strong position in terms of getting the best outcome if he does decide to leave . Im assuming he is likely heading to Carlton? If that’s the case , we need to force them to pay enough to ensure we get first round pick return. Assuming we would be told by the afl what we are likely to receive before a deal is made? If that’s the case , Carlton cop up the money needed to achieve this or we play hard ball and match and force a trade for their first round pick

If Tarryn turns his life and footy around to be the elite player that we think he can be, he'll be 27/28 and right at the sweet spot to surely be a target for Tassie inaugural team?
If he is still with us in 4 or 5 years he'd have spent more of his life at North than he did In Tassie. In fact he could reach that point at the end of next year. Can't remember when he got to Tassie but it was when he was 10-12.

Nick Watson looks a Cody Weightman clone. Higher ceiling I hope if our first pick was used on him?

193cm makes him a lot better proposition for mine than 191cm. I know it’s pedantic, but that extra inch might be the difference from being able to play as a key forward vs a flanker. He definitely has the long limbs to go along with it. Scores goals in multiple ways and just knows how to play footy. Think his body has a bit to go before he plays AFL footy.

He will be another interesting watch at Champs. Not a fan of him playing midfield, much more interested with him as a forward. But good to show he can impact up the ground if need be.

l'm thinking he will stay...

2024 AFL Premiership Team...

McDonald, McKay, Logue
Bergman, Corr, Goater
Wilson, LDU, Scott
Watson, Comben, Simpkin
Zurhaar, Larkey, Stephenson
Xerri, Wardlaw, Phillips

CCJ, Thomas, Sheezel, Powell/George

Honestly guys, where are the holes in this team? Please tell me!

Okay I'm half joking, but honestly that team doesn't look half bad. What's the saying? Things are never as bad/good as they appear? It can turn quickly?

If we can somehow manage to scrounge a second top 5 or top 10 pick this year on top of porta deli's pick, and develop them all properly, we could finally get out of this hole and see a period of sustained success.

I don’t care how, but get Sheezel into the 18.

Sadly, I'm thinking more and more that Darcy Wilson will go pretty close to top 5. His athletic profile may be the best in the draft and his 3 games at Coates level were phenomenal. The trend the game is going in requires a team of strong runners, and he's the standout in this regard among this crop.

I'd have them:
1. Harley Reid
2. Nick Watson
3. Mitch Edwards
4. Dan Curtain
5. Darcy Wilson

Would not be shocked to hear us call Darcy Wilson out instead of Nick Watson.

I've never been a fan of trading future 1st round picks, but if Wilson is up there at year's end, I would strongly consider playing it aggressive and trading out a future 1st to grab him in addition to Watson. Both Wilson and Watson are quality prospects in positions we have a great need.

Is the related to Mick Nolan Darcy Wilson?

Thought I heard Alex Rance say the Wilson kid was at the same academy, I think in Wangaratta, as Brayden George was last year.
Imagine if we got first round McKay compo, PP and traded our future 1st and had 5 picks inside 20 or something. That'd be crazy.
He's actually mates with Sausage and his great uncle is the late Micky Nolan. And of course, BFNAAK.
