Saints were down by 3 goals late and they still had two defenders hugging Charlie....

Stale stuff by Lyon.
After being mugged all night by the two Aints defenders, Charlie was spent. But... with our entry into the forward 50 late in the last, it would have only taken him a couple of minutes to take them from 3 down to 6 down if they had shifted one of the players on him.

Blues are 4-0 since I have been in Europe, I will be in Sweden for the Melbourne game, then coming home. If anyone wants to fund an extension of my holiday enquire within.
Just don't go base jumping like an old member of the board did.

There's a shed in SE London you're welcome to share with the neighbour's cat and the occasional fox.

Id think Walsh, Mckay and Silvagni are pretty much givens now. McKay to assist Curnow up front, Silvagni in for Pittonet for mine, and Walsh probably for one of the newer little guys.
Gonna be tricky removing Motts and Owies. They have 20 and 19 goals respectively this season.

I know heā€™s a midfielder already but could acres work in the heat see him on the ball at some point?
Seems to do it pretty easily.
He was given a lot of opportunity in there at Saint Kilda and consistently struggled. He was fantastic today, it was a toss up between him and Newman for BOG in my opinion. Iā€™d rather keep him on the wing, heā€™s been a very good pickup.

Fisher for starters

Thought you might have meant dropped for this game to give Fisher an opportunity. Agree Fish lost his way. Good to see a great second half.

This was our best year for as long as I can remember.
Down at half time, missing so many of our top quality players. But we didn't give it away, we didn't cry woe is me, we fought, we persisted, we found other avenues... and we WON.

Shout out to the lesser lights, Dow, Acres, NEWMAN (again and again and again this year), Fisher and Cunners.
Also, special mention to the man that has been the best Full Back in the competition for 3 years, but never gets the accolades from the AA community because he actually defends, Jacob Weitering, our captain in everything but name. Gun!

Had to watch the replay. Good first quarter. Wobbled for 5 minutes in the second quarter and suffered the consequences. Really solid third quarter where we regained our composure and seized the momentum. The last quarter was top shelf. Every goal a team lifter. These boys believe now.

For years seemingly forever I have admired teams and create a winning or winnable system and can be hit with a number of injuries and still remain competitive. This probably stems as far back as 2012 when injuries completely ****ed our season.

Teams like Sydney, Hawthorn in their best years, Geelong, and a couple of others have been able to do this. You would have no name or overlooked players coming into the team and playing a role that they were especially trained for. And sometimes the effect would be that you didn't notice the big name player missing from the team.

I think we're finally heading in that direction. Fancy being able to bring in a guy like Fisher into a team that is one six in a row and been decimated by injuries. He'd been written off. Well. He had some frustrating moments today he came in, did the job, flew the flag and played an important role in the win.

We're seeing it with other players too.

Well done to the coaches and to the lads on doing this. Bloody impressive.

Just finished re watching the game.

Goddam that was a good win. Considering all the circumstances it was absolutely massive.

Previous years when we go into an important match as favourites we haven't handled the pressure and folded.

5th spot up for grabs (or be out of the 8).
To have that pressure really applied to us. 4 goals back. Missing a huge chunk of our best 22.

Really stood up and embraced the pressure and the moment.

They will take alot of confidence out of that win.

Fisher was so clean and composed. That was they player I always thought Fisher would become.

Newman was absolutely immense. We must be pinching ourselves how cheap we got him from Sydney.

Weitering playing like an absolute boss again. Confidence is through the roof.

Jack Martin did some really nice things. He's a match winner. Keep him fit for 7 more weeks please.

TDK third qtr. We are going to be seeing plenty more of that.

We find a way to knock over Melbourne next week the lid will be in orbit and the sky will be the ****ing limit.

Let's go baggers
