Look for the length of time Hayward has been at the club and the fact he's in the leadership group youd think sooner or later he'd have a really good game.
Most of his career he's been below mediocre.
Just not great a player at least in the role that's been assigned to him.
He had a chance to give us a sniff and he blew it.
Not tall. Not bulky. Not particularly quick. Not a great tackler. Doesn't impose himself on the games. Goes missing. Good kick and good mark (if his opponent is the same size).
Always saves his rep by kicking 1-2 cheap goals a game.
I just don't get it.
Had a very good year last year but is well off the pace 2023.
