If 26-30 is the peak and Rioli is 28 at the start of next year is a player with 2-3 years at that level worth pick 6? Not to me, pick 13 maybe.

It’s another trade with horrible optics IMO. Do you think we would get pick 6 for a contracted Touk? And I would argue Touk is a better player

Your point on Danger is valid and if we pick up Rioli I will have my fingers crossed he can replicate that feat.

Oh I agree pick 6 is well overs, and Richmond should be biting our hand to get it, I just think you're being a tad harsh on Rioli, he is going to be a jet for us. Reckon we get 5 or 6 years out of him, with 3 or so being borderline AA. The way we intercept the ball and cause turnovers, he is going to have a lot of opportunities to cause damage next year.

If Melbourne are actually cooked enough to offer their future first for Pick 13 take the deal and run. Melbourne are clearly a club in crisis right now behind the scenes, I could easily see them crashing and burning down the ladder in the 2025 season.

So this only works if Richmond finish low enough that their F1 pick wouldn't be swallowed up by a Zeke bid, and that we don't have to trade it off to another club next year to pay overs for another experienced player that isn't worth the pick... Sounds risky

Either way glad you’re holding your ground on not offering more than 6 for Rioli. Think that’s incredibly generous as it is.

Dimma obviously wants Rioli and he definitely fills a gaping hole in our structure
But now I hear Houston might stay at Port?
Maybe Dan will realise Richmond is the true home of superstars and want to stay

Richmond will have to deal with their 2024/2025 class coming out of contract when Tassie come in and will be at risk at inflated contracts just like we did or let them go

In fairness The_Gun was being fairly polite, just because some Richmond nuffs were rude it doesn't mean you should start throwing hands on sight.

I tend to agree.....to me, he doesn't come over as dis-respectful.....sure he has his opinion and it might differ from a lot on this board........but geez, my opinion differs a lot from others on this board.......

Always said it pick #6 for Rioli is the correct trade unless salary contribution was involved which doesn't appear to be the case. It will get done and Rioli will play his 6th year as a 33 year old
