my guess is 88,000 for Sunday and 85,000 for Monday. Both big games. Carlton v Essendon playing for top 4 and Collingwood v Melbourne playing for a position in the 8

Two games of WAFL today on the WA Day Public Holiday. The East vs West Perth Derby up at Joondalup Arena had over 4,500. But bigger is the South vs East Freo Derby at Fremantle Oval of 7,468.

You can add the fact Carlton and Essendon (bitter rivals) have not faced each other in a meaningful game for years. Both sets of fans are excited and ready to lift the lid off on Sunday night.my guess is 88,000 for Sunday and 85,000 for Monday. Both big games. Not if Langford and Redman are injured and missing they won’t be!You can add the fact Carlton and Essendon (bitter rivals) have not faced each other in a meaningful game for years. Both sets of fans are excited and ready to lift the lid off on Sunday night.
Yes its sad to see how the State Leagues crowds all around the country have fallen away so badly even the now VFL comp as the former VFA used to get more to their under 19 matches than they get to seniors matches now. Some photos from Facebook of today’s crowd. It is so good to see such a crowd at a state league game. If only we could see it more often.

Scotty doesn’t know
A great shot of a very good suburban ground and nice to see a good crowd in attendance! Some photos from Facebook of today’s crowd. It is so good to see such a crowd at a state league game. If only we could see it more often.

Comes down to the walk up. Unlikely to be at capacity but reasonably close. The possibility of afternoon showers (easing during afternoon) could be telling. Also, being Essendon home game it means in theory the demand in the MCC would be expected to be slightly lower as these Essendon MCC members will in many cases be using their Club member seats (I’m an example of this).AFL reserve is sold out for Kings Birthday (but some more level 1 undercover seats may go on sale soon).
Ever since they put in the update that no more MCC visitors are allowed, sales have crawled to a snails pace for Essendon Carlton. Still around 700 tickets up the top of level 4 and it doesn’t look like many are going to be taken.
AFL reserve for Essendon game still have a couple bays of standing room.Comes down to the walk up. Unlikely to be at capacity but reasonably close. Is AFL Reserve approaching sellout for the Ess Vs Car game?
The weather in Melbourne over the next few days in Melbourne looks OK so it should not impact the crowds at the G that much.AFL reserve for Essendon game still have a couple bays of standing room.
It won’t be about walkups for those areas on level 4. Because they are designated reserved areas and won’t be open To walk ups it will likely be empty unless the reserve is overflowing.
It will be sold out quite soon. Not a lot of seats remain, about 1/3 of Q section in the Warne Stand is about all that’s left, excl Club member seat returns down the track.Massive!
Dave 10 do you think it could get over 90k?It will be sold out quite soon. Not a lot of seats remain, about 1/3 of Q section in the Warne Stand is about all that’s left, excl Club member seat returns down the track.
Depends solely on how each team is travelling leading into the match. It could be anything between 70,000-90,000.Dave 10 do you think it could get over 90k?
Channel Seven are spruking 92 - 95,000 for the Dons V Blues and Melb v Pies 90K plus.I still stand that Essendon v Carlton will draw 88,000 (that’s about capacity for non public holiday matches) and 85,000 for Collingwood v Melbourne
Lol, Freo oval is the worst ground in the WAFL by miles. It's quite sad given its in such a great location. Arguably the best in the WAFL.A great shot of a very good suburban ground and nice to see a good crowd in attendance!
Another solid Thursday night crowd at Adelaide Oval considering the Crows recent poor form.Adelaide oval crowd: 37,342
Accurate. As soon as the media starts shouting about “90,000+”, the automatic assumption should be 88k. We’ve seen it enough times now that it’d take an extreme outlier to go higher (though I hope it does).I still stand that Essendon v Carlton will draw 88,000 (that’s about capacity for non public holiday matches) and 85,000 for Collingwood v Melbourne
Personally I would regard the posters in this thread at better predicting crowds than ch 7.Channel Seven are spruking 92 - 95,000 for the Dons V Blues and Melb v Pies 90K plus.
