Just woke up from a dead sleep and now I'm ****ing angry.

Instead of doing the right thing and celebrating Cripps best season ever this is the headline story on one of Australia's largest news sites.

Perhaps Nick Daicos could try not being the biggest squib in the AFL.

Perhaps Nick Daicos could learn to impact a game in more ways than getting cheap receiving possessions.

But no it's Nick Daicos and he has no idea how to do either of those things.

The media should get over their collective nutting of Daicos and celebrate the deserved winner.

Absolute joke
When I saw the headline I thought WTF, and certainly they should be acknowledging the deserved winner. The article, however, reflects on voting and wondered how N.Daicos got a vote in Rd.13 when many thought it should have been Josh. Similarly reflects on Bont's low polling plus other votes. Typical News clickbait. Lead should have been Cripps. Cripps is amazing in what he achieved, and how he acknowledged it on the night.

my Email spam folder has more integrity than News, com.au

If it was the other way around and Nick had got 45 votes they would’ve had to get the mops out for all the froth produced by the media.

A brilliant season by our champion leader, Patrick Cripps.

His consistency, leadership & personal development was a pleasure to watch this year.

It was great to see him running so well, on top of the ground, all season.

It’s well & truely time for our team/organisation to step up to his level of belief, commitment, preparation, consistency & performance.

Crippa simply got the best out of himself this year - how many others at our club can say the same?

Put him on the door when players return in December & have them pass his eyeball test.

So much pride and love for this man...he deserves it categorically!
Since about a third of the way into the season I've been saying he's playing better than his first brownlow year... so I'm not surprised at all he's got #2!!
Would just love to see him hold the cup with a norm smith around his neck now...

Doull and Jezza easily, not even a debate except for Nichols

Hopefully Crippa can emulate Nichols by carrying the club on his shoulders for so long and breaking the drought eventually.

Will be a Carlton travesty if we don’t get Crippa a premiership medal

Which NewsCorpse trash tabloid is that from Wickz

The main board thread is some special kind of stupid.

Brownlow voting isn't intended to be a perfect or precise measure of the season you had. It's a measure of how the umpires felt you went, as independent arbiters of the game; hence, the tag 'Best and Fairest'.

The more votes you receive is not a testament to how much better a game you were or how much better your season was than the bloke who won it last year. People reading too much into what is a very ****ing straightforward award.

People looking for a reason to whinge often find precisely what they are looking for.

He's now on Carlton's Mount Rushmore along with Sticks...trying to choose the other two becomes a little more difficult...

KERNAHAN
CRIPPS
NICHOLS
JESAULENKO
DOULL
SILVAGNI
BRADLEY
JUDD
WILLIAMS
KOUTAFIDES
SOUTHBY
Does a premiership for Crippa make him the greatest Carlton footballer of all time for you?

Does a premiership for Crippa make him the greatest Carlton footballer of all time for you?

Acknowledging recency bias but yes I believe it would have to.

Given that he would not only be skipper but to have led a club that has been at rock bottom and starved of premiership success for so long - I think a Cripps led premiership would rank as one of, if not the most special flags in the club's history.

It would cap off the legend that he is creating.
