Toce apparently likes Langford ... so Tigers could go Jagga/FOS with 1 and Langford with 6 ... if they get it

We know Draper will likely be gone and FOS and Jagga and maybe now Langford

What Dees or North do is up in the air

North ... do they go best available or look at a KPP which they desperately need ... do they trade out further?

Dees ... some are saying will look at a KPP ... Armstrong?? .... but I am not convinced they will

anyone know if we are still pursuing Serong? Or did he reject our advances?
I reckon its still bubbling away in the background. Weird no one has reported it, maybe because he's a bit of an irrelevant player

It has been reported that he's gettable and if I'm not mistaken, open to a move away. Can't remember by who though

Anybody think we probably are happy to give up 43 for Macrae and it’s all mind games because that’s exactly what we’re happy to give up.

Act like we don’t want to give up 43 finally negotiate that is the maximum we will give up and the dogs think they have a win while we only end up giving up for 43.

Jedi mind tricks at play.

Not this anybody.

We are rebuilding. There is no point wasting too much trade capital on someone who might only have one or two good years left.

This is a good draft to use all of our first 4 picks in.

If we waste too much trade capital on the likes of Macrae and Soldo, you might get a warm fuzzy glow from sneaking into the 8 next year....but followed by years of continued misery after that but remaining to have only a so so list.

We have had a youth first policy of late, and taking on cheap older players. We need to continue on this path.

Filly some gaps in our list with older players is ok as long as we do not expend decent trade capital on them. ie Macrae and Soldo f gained mainly need to join us because they are salary dumps.

In a season our two hopefully we have acquired enough good youth, to also then chase and secure some better players who will cost good picks.

And what are these "cheap older players" we can get who can actually make both a meaningful on-field and off-field impact? Can you name names?

So weve been rebuilding every year since 2012?

Pick 7 for Lalor
Split picks 8 & 24 into two inbetweeners.
Get Hotton & Lindsay
or Hynes.
Rookie Cole, Hofman & Peckett & Sandy player.
Trade in, Macrae, Soldo & Tomlinson.

Forget the Sandy player, just because we made a statement on it , they must still able to compete at the next level & there wasn’t one this season.

I have no idea what it is, but drafting is a multi year strategy so this year falls in the context of 2025 & 2026. We may choose to take only 3 at the draft as well the regular place fillers through the FS/NGA.
We could have all of Gus, Irish, Cole, Hoffman and Peckett in development next year and us punters know SFA about them and what their genuine potential might be.

Just my opinion, but now is the time to burn some draft capital to get the exact players we want.

Completely agree. Anyone have the maths on how many others need to be traded or delisted for us to take, say, 4 picks (ex-FS/NGA)?

We are rebuilding but that isn't open ended. Most clubs can rebuild around a core in 4 seasons if they get it right. We need to go now. If we wait until Sinclair, Steele, Marshall etc are all over 30 we will need to rebuild this rebuild.

We need some bridging players and we need some future kids coming through. I think we could easily be where Sydney are this year with a couple of very targeted additions. We should have a fair bit of internal improvement.

Nas is already a gun but he goes up a level you get an elite talent. Then from Owens, Wilson, Phillipou, Henry, King, Windhager, Garcia, Shoenmaker, Keeler, Hastie etc you get a few go up a level. Then Dow, Clark, Byrnes, Sharman, Caminiti, Byrnes and even someone like Snags start to meet potential and all of a sudden you are starting to push up hard.

Add an extractor and a ruck and it's getting towards a finals side IMO.

Reportedly playing hardball with the doggies. Don't want to give up pick 43? for Macrae.
Forget MacRae then. Go for Parker.
I know he’s supposedly going to Norf, but seriously who would want to go there?

In a way - but every time we get two years in some dickwad gives up our picks for short term fixes or screws the picks that we did have and three years later we realise our peak is about 8th when everything goes absolutely perfectly. Rinse and repeat.

Need to hold on to high picks and bring in the targets. About all I trust SOS in is not getting ripped off in trades. He's like Dildoro at the trade table. He's brutal.

He sucked when he went on ball in the GF. Great forward though. Macrae or Jarrod Lyons types are more ideal IMO. Otherwise Will Brodie and get him to win the ball and hand it off.
