Yep. Wasn't impressed with Grundy for the 2nd half of the season TBH.

When you look at Brisbane we are a long way behind if you take into account they had Big O, Coleman, Gardiner and Linc McCarthey missing and they will add Levi Ashcroft this off season as well. Their list depth and quality is the best in the competition.

Who can we steal from them?

This is all hypothetical and we don't know the cap but i would 100% love to have Parish at sydney , but doubt he leaves Essendon .

I mean Jokes aside ill take 45 vote patty cripps , ill take any big splash in the midfield balances Heeney and Mills out a bit and helps defence and forward line.

IIRC we traded them for Brett Meredith.

That was the draft we took Vezpremi at 12 and Dangerfield and Rioli went the pick before and the pick after.

The player we seem incapable of replacing is JPK.

Neale and Ashcroft completely destroyed us in tight and that was basically the beginning, middle, and end of the game. If Heeney wasn't going off, we were no chance.

There were warning signs all year that a game like this would happen (again). Even back to round 3 when Taranto did whatever he wanted.

wouldn't be sad to see Adams go, and happy with the salary cap relief - (was very surprised we traded for him)

Serong was the big mistake we made

Passing on Dunkley when he was a father/son, nominated us as his choice, was highly rated coming into the draft, and plays the exact role we now desperately need, was a pretty big mistake as well.

Even if that is true, and I am sceptical, it was still a horrible error not to match the bid.

Same as if it would have been a terrible decision not to match on Mitchell if his heart wasn't ever really in being in Sydney.

Interestingly our next bids after not matching Dunkley was Leonardis (pick 51) and Dawson (pick 56).

So not sure if that plays out differently if we match the Dunkley bid with the later picks. Though we got Mills, Dawson and Papley from that draft so it ended up being an ok draft overall.

After falling disappointingly in the grand final, the Swans’ attention now turns to list management. Veteran Luke Parker is all but certain to land at North Melbourne this off-season, per Jon Ralph. Parker has had a tough year due to injury and suspension but has proven he can still play a vital role; in a premiership tilt, no less. Ruckman Peter Ladhams remains stuck behind Brodie Grundy in the pecking order and could seek greater senior opportunities elsewhere, while small forward Jacob Konstanty is yet to break into the senior side and remains unsigned for next season — he will learn his Swans future in the coming weeks. Sydney currently has nine players off-contract — Harry Arnold, Jack Buller, Aaron Francis, Tom Hanily, Jacob Konstanty, Jaiden Magor, Lachlan McAndrew, Caleb Mitchell and Cooper Vickery. List cuts are imminent.

To be fair the draft profile sounds great for Stephens, if we got this guy below we would be laughing

Stephens was able to flash his natural abilities throughout the course of the SANFL and National U18 Championships. The final game of the National Championships saw Stephens have a blinding performance with a game-high 33 disposals that included nine clearances. Stephens pin-point kicking and inside 50 penetration was evident as the Allies could not stop his accumulation around the ground, with his neat left foot giving recruiters plenty to like. Another standout match came against Sturt in the SANFL elimination final which saw Stephens have no issues adjusting to a cut-throat final. It wasn’t his most prolific but his defensive component to the game was outstanding with the eagerness to chase, pressure and tackle. His outside game has been tremendous, the most obvious asset to his armoury so far and his earned him comparisons to AFL stars Andrew Gaff and Lachie Whitfield. Dylan’s continuous movement is supplemented by the capacity to lead up to the ball, break away from the pack and use the ball wisely when entering forward 50. Stephens is a superb athlete displaying his speed (2.97 20m sprint), endurance (21.2 Yo-Yo test), agility (8.24 seconds), and 2km time trial time of 6.01 minutes at the National Draft Combine. A typical improvement for a player in Dylan’s position is to add more muscle to his light frame to be able to withstand the rigours of football at the highest level, while building his contested numbers. He is likely to play that wing role at AFL level, but has shown he can play on the inside, but still with a high-leaning uncontested ball. In many ways, he could develop into that Steele Sidebottom type midfielder, where at times his contested possession rate could move to the mid-late thirties more so than around the one-third mark. Overall, given his skills, athleticism and work rate, Stephens is a standout midfielder, and the top outside-leaning midfielder in the draft crop
