Mrs Zevon. Would you believe it šŸ˜«

Thankfully sheā€™s not on Bigfooty, and if any of you find a way to tell her Iā€™ve been bagging out her team youā€™re dead (and Iā€™m sleeping on the couch)
So thereā€™s one. Already knew she wasnā€™t on Bigfoot because Iā€™ve never seen a GWS fan on here

So I'm just gonna say what we're all thinking after the loss of Adams and the putrid non-CBA Dimma induced shitfest from Flanders...

F*CK THE FORWARD LINE!!

Legitimately thinking of starting Toby Greene at F1. At least you know what you get from him, and his run start to the year is epic. Should be a safe 80, with some 90's and tons in there.

I rate this. They were locks now our forward lines are full turmoil. Nice for uniqueness going into the season!

People forgot that Dimma coached teams donā€™t have 100+ avg mids. Dimma is good for getting high scoring HBā€™s (aka Sexton)

But this is at least gonna guarantee uniqueness ever more in the forwards

I think the big question mark though has been whether Dimma has had the cattle to have 100+ mids previously. Seems he had the cattle now but if we get similar showing to tonight in the real stuff then itā€™s looking like that for sure. If it werenā€™t for round 0 Iā€™d be starting big Willy Powell without even thinking. Still considering it

Weā€™ve played pretty poor against prelim teams Brisbane and gws

Think round 0 is a better indicator

We are like a week out from the start of the season and we are looking at names like James Jordon, Zac Fisher and Alex Sexton as key pieces in our forward line... This season is cooked before it has even begun.

TBH I donā€™t mind it, it actually kinda lines up with what my original strategy was gonna be, go the mostly vanilla with a few PODs.

Just took a bit of time to sus out the vanilla
Itā€™s slightly annoying when they come out and absolutely smash it though. Sexton and Jordon were probably pretty vanilla already for most of the top end of the comp but these scores just put them on everyoneā€™s radar.

Sucks for leagues mostly, where you think youā€™re getting a leg up by being more prepared only for the preseason games to reveal all the secrets anyway

Fisher F1?
Whoa!
Look at money bags over here showing off.
šŸ˜‰

Round 0 will shuffle everything around, but after the games so far his week,
Ive got Billings F1. Even cheaper.
Booted Flanders, Jackson & Adams for
Billings, Jordan & Sexton.

$200k left and a strong M1 to M6, plus no rookie defenders, so I might sacrifice Wines or Crouch to have 1 better forward, I just haven't found that forward yet.

What went on in the master of tat suns game?

Just checked a few scores and w Graham and uwland came on to score 28 and 32 in a quarter along with Sexton 41. Thatā€™s big half back numbers

Reckon those could be 2 rookie downgrade options to watch, Simms talked up Graham recently.

Fisher F1?
I'm actually feeling more confident in my forward line than defense now as viable options are presenting themselves. I've currently got Fisher at F1 with Reid at F6. I'm hoping to see more rookies present themselves over the next few days though.

Junk time // gws put the cue in the rack.

Personally Iā€™d rather play the kids in the dimma era than these old beat up horses.

Graham, Uwland & Clohesy will be oneā€™s to watch
Read r3 and Rogers later in the year.

Decent options

I heard somebody in a podcast the other day suggest Jessie Hogan (donā€™t laugh, bear with me) for a two round smash play before his early bye. Has North and West Coast. The Eagles in particular got absolutely demolished by key forwards last year.

Couldnā€™t could you??

Going him or T. Greene F1 (as Catastrophe! suggested earlier) could be a reasonable play as no one really has any idea who the early FWD premos will be, so you could just pick either of them and have a good chance of nabbing some ceiling scores whilst the dust settles and the genuine FWD options put their hands up (ie someone who scores well in pre-season and then both of the first two games, not a one-game wonder).

If you're going to do that I'd just roll with Tom Green or Touk Miller. I don't see the point in doing that in the forward line unless someone is projected to gain $100k.

I think thereā€™s more cheap options that feel viable up forward. Partly as the bar is lower to average to be near the top. Iā€™ve moved more toward an expensive backline because of lack of clear cheap options (let alone rookie coverage) and the clear gulf to the top end.

I'd rather Toby, tbh. At least McGovern or Barass can cover him. There's no-one in that backline that can cover Toby for a full game.

Tom Green had - 90 against the Eagles, 73 against the Roos
Toby Greene had - 89 against the Eagles, 111 against the Roos

I'd say the matchups are that easy, that I'd genuinely consider it as a play...especially given the dearth of forwards. Extra 200K you need as well for Tom, which is no chump change.
