That's at least 4 races off the top of my head he has ****ed himself out of winning due to his mistake or bad strategy calls. Sochi 2021, Austria, Silverstone and now this.

He was 4 seconds ahead on first so probably would been up 7 seconds after that and Norris would have been in a shit fight. If he got back from that fair play but don't think it happens... then add the gain if he pitted first again on the second.

Wonder how this will affect the McLaren team. Hopefully come tomorrow things will be back to normal. Good thing another race next weekend.

Despite being a massive campaigner today, Norris' pace has been very good this year and he obviously thinks he's a chance at chasing down Verstappen. McLaren has a big decision to make because if they agree with Norris they have to prioritise him at every turn for the rest of the season. If they think they can win the constructors but not the drivers championship, they'll have to pull Lando into line.

I think the fact that Perez finished in the points answers that question for them.
