Sean Darcy doing a great Harley Bennell impression here:
  • 26/3 = 2-3 weeks
  • 19/3 = 3 weeks
  • 12/3 = 3-4 weeks
We panned Tom Morris for his initial assessment of 6 weeks, but he may be bang on the money. Ryan Daniels ("within 4 weeks") is a distant dream now.
I too sensed shenanigans when I saw 2-3 weeks. That pesky time warping blackhole appears to be back.

Noddy and co had better they get back on the track next week or they are going to be TBC before they know it

My understanding is Tabs is coming back from a discectomy so while 'fixed' by surgery, from my partner's experience who is not a professional athlete, many things still flare up the pain, and make it feel 'clunky'. I imagine a full game of footy and the sitting on the plane twice is causing a fair bit of discomfort. Often the prolonged sitting causes more issue. Doesn't necessarily mean he can't play or there is something wrong, but will just feel uncomfortable and managed with pain killers. Priddis (public knowledge) has had the same and still manages to pull the boots on regularly. One of our best jockeys had the same surgeon as my partner and if they can keep bouncing up and down on a horse, it obviously can be worked through.
people forget he has had to endure this, yet personally attack him

McDonald seeing specialist. Waiting another few days for the knee to settle before making a decision on how to handle it.

ROUND THREE INJURY LIST
Heath Chapman (hamstring) – 1 week
Nathan O’Driscoll (knee) – 1 week
Karl Worner (concussion) – 1 week
Ethan Stanley (ankle) – 1 week
Sean Darcy (knee) – 2-3 weeks
Corey Wagner (calf) – 4-5 weeks
Brennan Cox (hamstring) – 11-13 weeks
Oscar McDonald (knee) – TBC
Odin Jones (concussion) – TBC
Josh Corbett (hip) – Season
Sebit Kuek (knee) – Season

We have the eagles in 3 games time. Gives us the extra week to make sure Darcy and Chapman are 100% ready for the senior side.

When did Odin Jones get the concussion?
No mention in the injury update. Worner, however, could technically play this round, but will get another week to recover.

Heath Chapman and Nathan O’Driscoll could make their football returns as early as next week, according to High Performance Manager Phil Merriman.

Chapman (hamstring) and O’Driscoll (knee) have both missed the opening two rounds of the season as they complete their respective injury rehabilitation.

The pair have both entered into full training this week and are a chance to return to football through the WAFL next week.

“Both boys are going really well,” Merriman said.

“Heath is into full training, as is ‘Driz’. They are both planning to return next week.”

The diagnosis on the knee injury of Oscar McDonald is yet to be determined, with a decision on his rehab process expected to be made at the end of this week.

“Oscar saw the specialist last week, we’re still waiting for the knee to settle before we make a really firm diagnosis to which way we head,” Merriman said.

“We’re going to give it a few more days and wait until the end of this week.”

Merriman provided positive updates on Sean Darcy (knee) and Ethan Stanley (ankle) who have both returned to on-field running.

“Sean has begun his on-field running program – all is going well so he is two-to-three weeks away,” Merriman said.

“Ethan is going really well, again progressing to on-field running and he will be a test to play hopefully next week.”

Nat Fyfe was subbed out at three-quarter-time in Freo’s win over North Melbourne at the weekend, with Merriman confirming the move was tactical only with an opportunity to manage the dual Brownlow-medallist’s workload.

“Nat has just had more than a couple of big weeks, and it was a good chance for us to manage Nat - but he’ll be ready to go this week,” Merriman said.

Eagles I think
Yeah must have been, because that's the last time he played. He wasn't meantioned in the injuries for that match though. Weird and concerning that he is still TBA for a concussion for this long.

Pretty sure I read somewhere it was at training. Definitely preseason, maybe between the two preseason matches, but definitely over 3 weeks ago.

Think there's a few players around the league on TBAs or indefinite for concussion now given how seriously it is now being taken and how strict the rehab is.

Just had a quick look and:
Collingwood - Nathan Murphy TBC
Western Bulldogs - Aiden O'Driscoll Indefinite

As somebody with 2 lower back disc injuries, I have a ton of respect for Tabs.

7 hour plane, game of footy, 7 hour plane back. That s**t hurts my back just reading it.
Me too. I can't fly Jetstar anymore because of lumbar issues. Or at least that's what I tell myself

When did Odin Jones get the concussion?

He and Harry Barnett went really hard at each other on the pre-season game against the Eagles.

Odin lined him up actually, but came off second best.

The hit was quite loud and Odin was badly shaken for a while.
He played on but I think he had delayed concussion
