Interesting to hear Donuts talk about Wines and knowing when it's time to step aside and let someone else take their role.

I feel like the people in the room should have been gesturing wildly towards Ken at that precise moment.

The campaigner seems to have no sense of self-awareness.

He said the same thing when Robbie retired

I was a little disappointed in Connor & Zac appearance last night during the half time break (7 broadcast). They had a question/answer feature about Port Adelaide history (SANFL & AFL) - neither got close to the number of premierships the magpies had won, they had about 5/6 softball questions which they were guessing the answers too. The only thing they were confident on was “making our community proud”.

Yes I know it’s trivial but one of the things I’m most proud of is our history & the fact we are the only traditional football club “elevated” to the national league.

It was a missed opportunity to emphasise the uniqueness that is PAFC and its supporter base.

I put more emphasis on footballing ability than pop quiz myself.

Was always going to be a tough year for Connor, first year as skipper and Bubs on the way, the injury has really impacted his year. Butters was a ‘Brownlow fancy’ early in the year and for the first time I can recall, really had his colours lowered by an individual on the weekend. We ain’t winning the flag this year so these blokes are developing, this is another strong development opportunity for them and we will be better for it. Dan Houston will be an All Australian if he stays fit.

We have arguably the best match day leader in the AFL on our list as a 19-20 year old, I have no doubt he will be skipper by the time he is 25-26. I think Connor plays some good football next year and sees the new coach in after Ken, then when new coach is established Connor will step back from the skipper role, similar to Boak when Wines should have taken the mantle. Zac will be the constant underpinning the changes for stability and JHF will evolve our group from good team to become naturally ruthless.
