Jagga sure is overrated around here.

Really should be going in the 6-10 range of the draft. Shocking.

Two weeks to go and we’re all up to speed on each player’s strengths and weaknesses, is it time to cull the poll down to who we think the club will take at our 1st pick?

Some good players listed below but can’t see how any of them would be considered at pick 3.
  • Bo Allan

    Votes: 5 1.1%
  • Joe Berry

    Votes: 26 5.9%
  • Tobie Travaglia

    Votes: 13 2.9%
  • Harry Armstrong

    Votes: 7 1.6%
  • Jobe Shanahan

    Votes: 0 0.0%
  • Xavier Lindsay

    Votes: 4 0.9%
  • Taj Hotton

    Votes: 11 2.5%
  • Josh Smillie

    Votes: 4 0.9%

Need to reset the poll

Lalor, Smith, Draper, FOS, Langford

Thanks Arrow.

I questioned the size of poll earlier this afternoon, but looks like it needed an influencer post to get it done…🤣

As long as we don’t call out Sam Durdin at pick 3.

I’m happy with any Lalor that Austin and Co think is best for us. In Austin we trust!

The Poll is - who should Carlton take at pick 3 if available. Pretty sure Carlton can only pick one player at pick 3.

Why allow multiple votes, everyone should vote on the same basis (one vote one player). Otherwise what’s the poll really indicating if some vote for just 1 or 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 players?

Sounds like some Trumped up vote rigging going on, what does our constitution say. :D

I know we have Carlton goggles on around here, and I know we have maybe got create in the past. But this is one rule nobody can get around.

If you could, why did Essendon trade out of pick 9 in a super-draft?? Because they were afraid a bit might come on Kako and they knew that pick would be gobbled up!! So they traded out and used that leverage to get the best deal they could and will now use later picks to match the bid.

In short... you must have done the trade PRIOR to matching a bid. Once a bid comes in and you want to match it, you MUST use your next available pick
That’s simply incorrect

I watched Blue Abroads podcast yesterday with Pommy and Dylan Alexander where they were discussing pick 3. Pommy very much wants Draper, and Dylan thought we'd go FOS if he's still there.

Interesting point made about Jagga is that we probably don't need him as he isn't a POD to what we already have. Guys think we already have an amalgamation of him in other players.

Jagga is a real point of difference, he has geninue leg speed which we don't have.

l have not seen Fos demonstrate anywhere near his speed & decision making this year.

I'm getting a Draper feeling now...

My only concern is the go home factor and that he and his whole family are Crows supporters....

He looks mature and strong enough to slot straight in.

I have been a JAGGA advocate but maybe he will be a Tom Mitchell type and get 40 a game but not impact....

I'm glad I'm not the one picking as it would do my head in....

Jagga will have impact imo. Give Inness this man, build his body up, he will break tackles and evade more.

On Gettable he showed how coach able he was by saying he went from 50 metres gained in a game to more damaging and shifting his hips more central corridor, thanks to metro coach.

I want someone coach able and someone who works on their weaknesses.

Nothing wrong with him being Tom Mitchell either, was massively important for the pies and is a Brownlow medalist

Funny how we see things differently Draper is so much of what we already have, vision directed at the ball and less of the environment around them. He'll be very similar to Saad (because of his pace) look a million bucks when they get the ball until they have to think about releasing it. Rushing their disposal making decision making questionable.

Smith you could say that he is more of an accumulator, which is probably where the similarity reference comes from.
He's got real zip in the contest and runs into holes the way Butters and Daicos have the ability to do. He's not as damaging as the forementioned but' in an AFL environment he's got the trait so it could translate.

Both of them will be good players, but I think Smith potentially has the higher ceiling. 👍

Lalor

Smith
Fos

Langford

Draper

Hey, who here doesn't love a good list(opinion/guess):

For Carlton, after all consideration, i would only consider 3 players(duh, we have Pick 3)
Imo In order for us:
1. Sam Lalor
2. Sid the Mid
3. Finn O'Sullivan
* I also wouldn;t mind Jagga for us in theory, but we need only to have 3 on our list.

My actual Top Ranking:

1. Sam Lalor
2. Sid Draper
3. Murphy Reid
4. Finn O'Sullivan
5. Harvey Langford
6. Jagga Smith
7. Tobie Travaglia
8. Xavier Lindsay
9. Harry Armstrong
10. Joe Berry
11. Alix Tarau
12. Jobe Shanahan
13. Josh Smillie
14. Alex Dodson

Phantom:

1. Richmond: Lalor
2. Richmond: O'Sullivan
3. Carl: Draper
4. Adel: Langford
5. Melb: Smith
6. NM: Tarau

Might just be me HBF, but I see a lot of similarities in ball getting, evasiveness and quick disposal skills between Jagga and Nick Daicos in these highlights.

Putting Jagga in a midfield area linking up with Walsh and Elijah would be a huge POD and lift to our front half attacks.

He’s an absolute beauty Jagga, I see a lot of similarities with him and Daicos!! Really really hope he is a blue if not Finn

How’s the confidence and arrogance in that footage to get the footy and dispose of it with his mouth guard half out 😂 love it

And yet according to the combine FOS is both faster and more agile than Jagga.

I understand there’s a difference between testing and games but if we have the choice between Jagga and FOS and we want the more athletic one, we’re not taking Jagga

You're right Finn is more agile and faster.

In game though, he gets caught holding the ball more and breaks less tackles.

He has the tools, but what's the point if he can't translate it in game.
