I love Steelers fans thinking Russ is their saviour only for me to point out on twitter that broncos rather pay him $39 mil dollars to not play for them.
Surely they are the winners of this deal paying only 1.2m taking him on?
Virtually a non risk deal

Screams horrendous prime time fixturing. The NFL lives for this.

Russ signing with the Stillers is huge news. Huge.

Should make all the difference, taking Pittsburgh from a 9-8 record last season to....

a 9-8 record again in 2024.

If anything I reckon they win 6 or 7 games only. Russ will be reason for Tomlin having his first losing season.

49ers play in California, as democratic as you will get in the USA.

Meanwhile, over in Wisconsin, home of the Green Bay Packers and also a traditionally Democratic homeland, abandoned their roots and swung towards Trump in his election delivering him the state and helping him secure the Presidential Election.

I'm old enough to remember old Tory stalwart Margaret Thatcher who nobody ever claimed voting for but many many clearly did. Same goes with Trump.
You remember Thatcher?

Frick you are nearly as old as me, I remember Ford, Whitlam and Heath, to a young kid Gough was the only one that had strong impact on the TV news, yet all the grey men on the other side seemed very capable of getting plenty of votes when these things called elections rolled around. A great mystery to me as a little kid for years, still not much clearer to me now why so many voters are suddenly more motivated by hate and envy instead of hope and a chance of progress.

It is weird how the conservatives, who spent so many decades loving the grey suits and stiff upper lip types, have so completely swung behind a psycopathic, lying showman with orange caked makeup, bad hair and zero morals. First time I've ever seen a Western democracy so completely over-run by a shameless cult.

Maybe, but how often do you see a guy start his first two seasons, take a season off to learn and come back the starter the following year with the team that drafted him? Feels a lot like what the Jets tried doing with Zach last year only to hurt his stock further to the point where they will probably have to cut him. Never copy the Jets.

Pickett is done. He's started basically 2 entire seasons and play as poorly as just about any QB over that stretch - that screams bust

Also, I'm not convinced that Russ is going to work well in an Arthur Smith offense. Smith loves play-action and throwing in the middle of the field at an intermediate depth - one thing Russ doesn't do much and another that he basically never does...

Pickett is done.
I dont disagree, thats why I think you should trade him now if you can find someone to take him rather than have him take the field at some stage this year and potentially ruin whatever trade value he is. Maybe they can trade him to some team looking for a bridge QB next offseason if he performs half respectably in game time this year but as far as being the Steelers starting QB moving forward I think thats over despite what Tomlin and Rooney are saying now.
