Training 2024 Pre-Season

Haven’t heard much on Sincs (considering he’s a reigning x2 bnf), but he’s training yeah?

I’m assuming the lack of mullet makes him harder to spot, but gee, thinking between Sincs, Hill, Henry, Wood and Nas we have some silky runners across the ground.
Sincs is our best player and a top 5 player in the comp imo. The amount of times he saves us is absurd. There is no cleaner, calmer player in the comp , Daicos and Bont included.

Dont think we are any hope for Gil.

Grew up a port fan. Lives in SA.

His Old man has a pharmacy chain from memory.
You never know… if they approach us as a profession, as kids these days do, then he’ll go where he reckons he’s the best shot at success and playing time.

For a young key defender, that might well be us in two years time.

I noted that. As a devotee of rock/metal, I wondered if the coaches had deliberately chosen the music as a psychological test, to strengthen our players mentally!

The lack of a coffee wasn't an issue, we ended up grabbing lunch in Lygon Street straight after training, so a good coffee was soon had!

The Titanic exhibition was great. I was shocked at the number of people who died who were never originally supposed to be on the ship!. The company convinced the captain to take the gig, he had already retired, the guy who headed up the design of the ship was convinced to be on board to take data on the performance of some new designs/parts, which he was originally going to do a few months later, and a bunch of passengers that were booked on other vessels that had trips cancelled due to the coal strike, that then got changed over to the Titanic because White Star were directing all their available coal to the Titanic to make sure the maiden voyage happened on time for the publicity!

This Titanic exhibition sounds interesting. Anyone know what time it is on?

Darcy Wilson is an unbelievable athlete.
After a gruelling training session, he’s dominated repeat 400 metre sprints..the last 2 he won by about 20 metres!
He simply glides across the turf, effortlessly it seems!
This is ****in awesome

If Butler misses a game dont be surprised if Collard sneaks in. Very very quick, incredible lateral movement and agility. Yes still small but theyd have to catch him. 👍🏻
Talk about youth bringing energy to a team. If Collard does make the starting team at any stage this year his first touch will get Saints fans pumping, and his first goal will energise his teammates.

Even if he gets laid out, I guarantee it will rile up his teammates.

I can’t wait.

Teriffic training reports everyone. Detailed and plentiful. I’ll actually save time going to the next session (what time does it start?) rather than waiting to read the reports after the fact. And I live in the Great People’s Republic of Westralia.

bergholt.........it feels like half of BF is at training and doing reports.

Today at training I'd glance to my right ....and then to my left wondering if someone close by was a BF poster.

I half expected someone to come up and whisper the code... "the birds fly south for the winter"

Lol.

It does happen.............I ended up having a chat with a BF poster(minus the code)

There is a code.

"What time is training"

This is *in awesome
Really haven't seen anything like it from a new recruit.
Repeat 400's, our top runners Windy, Sinc's Battle, Alison in his group.
The others are blowing a gale, he is at the front breathing like a marathon runner.

If he can utilise this in a game, he better have 4 opponents rotating off him as he will destroy an opposition player one on one.

The kid should have gone top 10 and we got him at at #18…

He’s still troubled by his knee unfortunately!
if he can't get it good and get some games in, he might be let go at the end of the year. A pity, i thought it was a great story. have to hope

He hasn't played a game yet, sounds very promising but there have been plenty of kids that were athletically amazing that couldn't convert it to AFL footy.

Here's hoping he's another draft steal a la Owens and Nasiah but I don't think we can set it in stone yet :)

This is very true, if all you had to do is run, AFL would be full of 10,000 metre runners.

Wilson has some smooth skills in match sim, and is an exciting prospect, however he is 18, we don't want to put undue expectations on him.

I think the one thing I've seen from him so far that I think was hidden fromhis highlights videos is that he actually has some evasive moves, side steps. He may not be super explosive but he does seem to have some of the hunter clark side stepping ability. This is what gives me the Zak Btters vibes.
