So now if Max kicks 80+ it’s a bad thing fmd
If he leads he will be unstoppable
Will get 800 arm chops a game and get at least a dozen frees from that 800.
Maybe only 3 if Leigh Fisher is on duty

If he doesn't we can at least get three 1st rounders for him

FMD the idea that max king doesn’t lead is stupendous. Fact is he came back and was averaging almost 3 goals a game. Reality is he just needs to stay healthy. Even his set shots were better.

It's really not
If we are taking it literally then yeah fair enough but we aren't

He doesn't lead anywhere near enough and is not strong enough in one on one...yet

I still reckon he can kick a tonne.

My argument re: King is that we would be a better side if the same amount of forward entries results in a 60/40/30 return from King/Caminiti/Sharman than we would from an 80/20/20 split.

If we are too reliant on him is individual numbers will look better but if we can share the load more between the 3 of them the whole team will be better than the sum of its parts.

These sort of metrics are very commonly used in the NBA and its not uncommon to see good players in bad sides put up great numbers because they're hit up so often, the great teams have spot up players who aren't used as much as their stats but can be just as efficient.

I think you’ll find if Max kicks too many goals this year he’ll be sacked mid season Matty Capuano style.
Also Darren Bourke looked like Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Hollow was extremely handsome.
And Doug Bailey set an all-time record for most freckles on an AFL player.

I think if Max is getting 80+ goals a season, we'll be doing ok. No reason the other guys can't score too so to me it would hopefully mean we're putting a good score on the board.

I want Max clunking marks and kicking goals.
I just want to see him repeat leading in 2024.

Work himself and his opponent into the ground, like Roo. No more standing and waving for a high ball.

Its not true that he doesn't lead, it doesn't take into account how modern football is played. I'd live to see any actual evididence that Max leads any less then any other similar forward.

So modern football no-one leads

Got it

There is only one Nick Riewoldt. Max cannot, nor will he ever be in that sort of aerobic calibre.

That said, he can repeat lead over and over and over.
Jump on blokes heads.
He only needs half a meter 1v1. No one is outreaching him. No one is out jumping him.
Max King could be an absolute freak of the competition circa heyday Carey if our delivery was 20% better.

I think our forward set up and entries have been absolutely putrid through his career thus far.

No pressure...

Agree, horrible entries. But Max doesn't help direct the entries by getting on the move.

If Max is moving into space, the Deliverers don't need to overthink anything, just put it out in front. Very simple and cuts out the poor long bomb deliveries.

No one can stop Max when he gets a run and a leap.....so do it more often please Max.

I hope we'll see that Ross has been drilling this type of forward entry movement.

On Kayo the other night it was Saints v Brisbsne from 2016, one of Roos last games.
15 seasons in he had a record 20 marks and kicked 9.
He was 35 and destroyed their backline with repeat after repeat leads.
He was an all time champion. There is not one forward in the League or abilitu to repeat lead like Roo.
Max is not Roo who was an out and out wingman who played forward. Max is key full forward, maybe CHF.
To even consider that Max can emulate Roo in repeat leads is delusional.

I’m heading to training tomorrow.
If I see a short, squat, wide, though undoubtedly handsome, fellow from the Wild Northwest there, I’ll take a picture and share with you all.

His set shot routine was definitely better.
And he was noticeably more confident.
Just has to get the first. Higgins too.
