scrolling through this forum's player threads, the shear number of ones with "injury" in their title is pretty alarming for me.
check out some reports from across the league and it’ll be less alarming
And when you realise most of them have recovered.
As far as I know, the club never told us about recovery for some of them, but I've cleared the thread titles for e.g. Caldwell and Guelfi missing the Round 24 game.

There were a few that were updated on the 25th of Jan which is the most recent injury update the club has released, so those are up to date (Wanganeen, Shiel, Draper, Hunter).

Then some others that we don't have updates on (Wright, Ridley) and who should have recovered but still seem to be on modified programs for some reason (e.g. running laps instead of doing match sim the other week?)

And then we've got like Jayden Davey's ACL which should've been healed months ago but they haven't let him into full training this whole time... those sort of LTIs usually just stay in the thread title until they are declared fit to play

I can tell you from actual seeing them that the only players who did not participate in the drills last Saturday where Shiel and Wanganeen. Ridley did not do match sim but did a full hour of normal drills and extra running. Ditto for Draper. Have to say it is the healthiest I have seen us for this time of year for a long time.

Have you seen much of Hayes?

You don't get to the front of the 2km TT bunch without being a pretty gifted runner naturally, Parish's fitness (like Merrett) is good 'enough'. It's not what's holding him back.

You only have to look at Nik Cox to see how a guy with an elite TT but not the right running patterns can end up a pretty long way behind the play.
Where is he in it though. I don’t even think he cracks the top ten.

Looks a bit stronger than last year. Has done some nice things in match sim. At this stage someone would be going down with an injury for him to play but IMO he will play a few games at some stage even though I do think he is still in development mode.

Hunter still in WA? I assume he is.

I suspect there'd be a large bunch all pretty close together, whether he's 9th or 15th in a bunch of guys likely separated by < 10 seconds over 2km seems pretty irrelevant to me.

We know Durham and Redman were up the front and probably went in the 6:15 region (or less), followed by Martin and Perkins (I think) then Langford and McGrath if you stop the video at 1:12 you can see that clearly. At 1:14 you can see there's another two not far behind Langford and McGrath neither of whom look like Parish, then at 1:17 there's a group of maybe half a dozen loosely together which would take you to 14 or so players.

Durham and Redman pass the end of the tradie sign around 1:03 (probably 1:02 before we cut across) and finish at 1:16 so ~14 seconds, and in the video the two guys trailing Langford and McGrath (one looks like Menzies) are ahead of the tradie sign as Durham finishes, meaning the top 8 players are within ~14 seconds of Durham.

Note: We run our TT on grass so it'll be slower than combine testing times, pretty sure there was a photo of Archie Roberts who ran 6:08 at the combine that showed his watch face and he was at > 6:20 pace on the grass

This is sick, thanks.

Have the club said when they're doing the intraclub match yet?
They have run one for the last four Saturdays. Full three quarters of match sim with a few VFL players involved and three umpires provided.:)

Nick Cox doing running on second oval with Ridley. Looks okay but must have had something minor go on.
Running fine. Kicking fine .

Random first quarter thoughts.

Hobbs given away two jumper hold free kicks at centre bounces .

Tsatas playing wing . Black team .Shanked one sot at goal. Couple of nice passes.

Wright the dominant tall forward.

Goldy two goals.

Red midfielders . Stringer / Hobbs / Perkins.

Caldwell mainly forward. Black team.

Gresham / Parish midfield/ forward. Black team.

Kelly wing . Doing well . Black team.

Durham midfield. Black team.

Duursma team black wing . Good.

Probably the strongest team black line up so far .

Bit of perspective on Tsatas .
Martin has kicked three straight to the opposition.
Parish two.
Merrett two.

Really good follow up work from Bryan at centre bounce making a few tackles in the secondary contest .

Red side struggling to stop the black team on transition .

Players a bit rusty on the stand and protected zone rules . Few fifties given away .

Jayden Davey playing back for red . Getting some of the footy.

Harry Jones . Work rate good but not a lot of footy . Has covered at CHB a couples of times.

Wied down by a lot of leads but not many possessions.

Langford having a run in defence for the last 10 minutes of that quarter.

Perkins not too bad midfield go the red side but has struggled on the defensive side .
