Thoughts? Rookies will change pending round 1.

Not sure about the Greene pick - he's only ever gone Top 10 for AVG among FWDs twice in his whole career. Absolute gun, but his game is not really made for SC. History shows he'll hover between 80 - 90, which is not really what you want for $500k.

Other than that, 7 Rd 0 premos needs to change. Maybe shift Reid FWD and add another gun mid, and only take one of Miller/Walsh (Steele maybe?)

update with some of the preseason news we're seeing. still think 13 premos is quite viable this year, especially considering how cheap the forward 'premiums' are. really want one of adams or baker to look viable as starting options. preferably baker but he has more role concerns.

8.2k left, if players that I put in could stop dying that would be great.

Solid grouping. I had a similar structure earlier today but decided to rethink as I feel Roberts is wasted on the bench with the low end backs scoring potentially sketchy. Ideally 1 less mid premo and stiffen up the backs, but I understand why you are where you are with the backs pool so thin

Hopefully some cheap back rookies step up in the preseason and I will sort it out, thanks for the feedback.

JHF still going to be a bit more impact / burst, I guess,.but he is quality.
Wines looks like he will be around stoppage enough that he will be viable if you were already keen. Moving fine.

So if you had to summarize, this about right?
Soldo clear no. 1, Sweet role and spot uncertain
Butters, Rozee, Wines, Houston ticked the boxes, but it's about who plays where against opposition tbh, especially the mid mix.
Reckon JHF is still going to be boom/bust.
Sinn a decent chance at best 22.
Clurey: might be a slow burn 'rookie' down back if he gets a game, but didn't see much in terms of a wing role. Break glass in case of emergency
tbf if Sweet is not number 1 ruck his spot is pretty certain.....

Wrestling whether to start one or both of Walsh and Tom Green or burn trades after their early byes. Keep changing my mind but currently leaning towards flipping Anderson for Walsh as the bye timing to switch them is OK (and that's what the extra trades are for?). The other challenge I can't solve is keeping all of MaCrae, Owens & Fyfe in the forward line and having another premo at M6. Logic says drop Fyfe but I like his cash generation potential and dropping him leaves F3 weak. Instead, currently resting on Windhager at D4 and Hustwaite at M8 in lieu of the extra premo mid that I cant afford. Shores up the backline abit and Windhager may be a good breakout candidate? Thoughts/suggestions welcomed!

I got thrown under the bus in the BFA threads..

$7,400 in the bank. 12 premos seems to be the way to go. Rookies can be sorted next couple weeks. Kept byes in mind by not having multiple premos missing in one week. Once I was done, I checked ownership % and it was disgusting.

Feel like I have the most cookie cutter team going around..

Happy to take this team through to the praccys. Done some relevant changes based on match sims so far this week.

Decided to go four deep in defence and just have two rookies. Chucked Burgoyne in there as it seems he’s locked to a wing role.

Mids only real changes are Parish and Ginbey in

FWDs for now I’ve removed Macrae as that interrupted pre season is concerning. Mitchito is F1 but that could change

Sweet was never going to be number one ruck.

He will only be a back up if Soldo goes down.

Burgoyne is a lock on the wing.

Sinn looked alright but I have no confidence that he can stay on the park.
What are your thoughts on JHF and Aliir this year?

What's the story with Trezise?
elevated price for a rookie but is at a mature age and seems to be playing half back for the A team in richmond match sim. think anyone under ~250k who has a hb role is worth chucking in your team and from the vfl and the 1 game sample size at afl level tresize can score.

This is where I'm at before praccy matches

I had never had Bont in all preseason, but listening to Talking Supercoach (pardon the pun) talked me into it. Over 30% ownership, apart from minor surgery is back to full training, and realistically what do we hope to trade him in at? Apart from injury I can't see him going below $600k all year.

The kicker for me was that getting him in hasn't really hurt my team elsewhere - really happy with the selections and structure.

Sicily became LDU once Blanck went down, and ideally I'd love to get Butters in for Walsh. Everyone talking about the value that Walsh is, but realistically you could pick him up $50k more expensive after his bye(s) throughout the year.

Also, if I could turn a Curtin into Billings...

With the rookies I've selected, I think there is a bit of fat there to play with, particularly still holding Conway.

I keep touching it:

Five Round 0 premiums is the absolute max IMO. The Sydney/Collingwood bye might hurt a little bit with 40 trades, swapping those players in and out for a week shouldn’t be too difficult.
